Gabe - Let me first say that TP is far from perfect, but all of them are. You are pointing out issues that are important to you. Many of these are not relevant to many agents.
I agree that your comments are accurate except for the first one. TP has more information availabele on one screen in the contact screen than any other Real Estate CRM out there. With no clicks or scrolling you can see name, address, email address, phone numbers, contact types, buyer preferences, notes, next appointment, FB status, and Twitter page. With one click you can see emails, houses for sale or sold in their neighborhood, friends and family, properties associated with them, and much more. I can tell you for a fact that no other real estate CRM displays all that as efficiently.
With regards to the spam, I have heard that before but you may have issues with what you are sending that is causing them to be labled spam. And you have to account for the fact that they are the only real estate CRM that allows you to send as much email out as you want with no additional fee. This is going to entail thousands of agents sending millions of emails to people that they have no business sending them to because they are old email addresses or people are labeling their email as spam and they don't know it.
They are agressive with sales of their other products but that's a matter of hitting the delete key along with all th eother advertsing you get from everywhere else.
The emails issues can be handled by using your own email client.
With regards to the export, they have one of if not the best one in the real estate industry. They can export 236 fields and they export with a solid system of record ID's. They export more property information than any other CRM. I am not a programmer but in just the last week I spoke with a CRM developer who is setting up an import utility for his CRM from TP. He said it was the most well structured one he has worked with yet. And so far he has set up import maps for Insightly, WiseAgent, Realty Juggler, Cloud Contacts and Outlook. The issue is not what they export. The issue is what other CRMs are capable of importing and for the vast majority, all they are capable of importing is contact info. No CRM imports email or letter templates, property information, activity plans, etc.
So while you have valid criticisms with TP, you're not going to find a different one that handles

I effectively used Top Producer for many years.

Aaron Seekford,
I have been using Top Producer since the DOS 4.2 days, upgraded to the network version, then to 8i. We manage a couple hundred transactions each year using it with a small team and I haven't found anything that works better. The mobile feature is pretty good as well.

Additionally, in Top Producer, for listing and closing plans, one can't do a recurring activity, it must be manually entered for each repetition. The Tech Support folks have been promising a fix for this for 5 years now.
There's also no way to put in a repetitive task with no end date. (Other than birthdays).
I could keep going, but I do agree that it's still one of the best. I just don't like some of its quirks.

Gary,
When looking at a contact record. Espcially one with whom I've been working for a long time, I look at my summary, but then have to go to another screen, activities and then click on completed to see what has been done, then back to upcoming activities and then finally back to summary to make notes. It's cumbersome!
The email issue is know to Top Producer support and they have decided not to implement the latest practices in use because some agents do not want the email header to display that the email is coming from Top Producer.
If I usemy own email client, it becomes problematic keeping track of completed emails. Plus, I can't mail merge as well, etc.
Lat I looked, they don't export notes, nor completed tasks.

Gary David Hall , they have a very clunky interface that requires going through numerous screens to get all the info on a client. For those of us with more than 1,000 leads, it's very difficult to keep track.
They also are not keeping up with the email system and current spam rules so many of the emails going out through Top Producer are being marked as Spam.
The push continues from the owners to buy more and more Move related products.
The email and letter formatting is clunky and difficult to use. Can't set a different default font.
No reliable html formatting in any of the modules for email or publishing.
Can't use multiple signatures. Can't send from different email accounts.
I can go on like this for quite a while.
And, why an I still using it?
Because they have my data and history for the past 10 years and I see no way of exporting it all with any reliability.

Thanks for the mention Gabe. I'm curious why you would not recommend Top Producer. Mind sharing some specifics?

Aaron Seekford , I use Top Producer which is very powerful, but it would not be my first recommendation for anyone today. You might want to contact Gary David Hall , he's an expert on CMS systems.
