Most definitely would attend. Self defense maneuvers would be my priority.

I would. I would like to hear what the officer suggests for different situations, and some self defense technics.

These classes are well attended in our area. It is not always necessary to have a police officer as the speaker. There are other available experts.

Our local Association is offering a safety training class in February 2015 that both agents and affiliates are interested in attending.

Absolutely!  The more training we can have from folks who know what we should be aware of the better!

Rick< I think this would be beneficial to all Realtors... In this day and age we can't be too careful, and I am sure this type of class would promote us being safer

I would prefer to attend a class given by a martial arts instructor specializing in self defense.  I feel that a police officer would be able to give you insight on how to be more aware of your surroundings and provide safety tips. But when boils down to protecting yourself, a self defense instructor is the way to go.

Absolutely!  In fact we had our Realtor Safety Class just last month held at a local Bank ... it was awesome!  They showed us a slide show, added some humor, and gave us a chance to ask questions.  The pointers were well received by our group.  The most unfortunate part?  Only about 20 agents showed up.  Some of the points covered Do's and Don'ts and additional safety tips; Danger Signals -- things to watch for or be attentive to.

I would never. They are 99% corrupt in Chicago and I do not trust the cops. At the end of the class the cop would probably want to show you a choke hold using you as an example.

When was the last time a cop helped you? All they do is eat donuts, give tickets and "look" busy.
