I was on AR commenting and getting to "know" people for THREE YEARS before posting.  I could knock myself in the head now for waiting so long.  It is not the easiest thing in the world to write and have no one respond, BUT we are writing for the public and whether or not we are offering anything of value will be answered when the phone starts ringing.  I also learned by being on AR that it's the search engine optimization that makes your phone ring - people find you and call you, they aren't necessarily even reading your blog posts.   So, I say, just start!  Once you get in the habit, it gets easier and easier.

Katrina - Just do IT!!!!

This is coming from someone who is still learning how to blog. One thing I know for certain is that I am much better at it today then when I first started.

Every person is an expert at something ... so share from your heart and just get in there and write!  Share how you got into real estate, share why you got into real estate, share some stories from your experience as an agent ... listing or working with buyers ... the list goes on and on and on.  (I just spoke to the choir) ... Just Do It!  That's the best advise I can give.  Wishing you great success and I'll be watching for your posts!

Best thing to do is pretend you are writing to a client or a friend. You will find it flows much easier

Katrina, that is what blogging is all about, write what you want to share.    There will always be those that like and those that don't.  Write information the public would find worthy.   

Just jump in and go for it!  Chances are, it's been said 5 different ways already.  But, very few of us actually see the posts , the blog roll changes every 2 minutes. Plus, there are new members  all the time.  And the public?  Blog about common questions you hear from buyers and sellers, you can't go wrong.

Katrina Thomas sometimes we become our own bottleneck! Our mindset does not allow us to do right thing. If you love to write, just write! This is what you believe that there is no value to anyone in what you write - however, that's not true. Just BLOG - just WRITE! (Frankly, I had the same thinking 4 years back - and I decided not to listen to what my mind said.)

At the beginning, I did not know what to write about but after awhile of reading other people blogs I figure out somethings that maybe someone would comment on.  It good to tell us about your listings, what you like to do marketing wise.  You will do ok.                                                 

Check out the different groups on active rain and join the groups that are of interest to you. It is easy to write about topics that you like. 

Choose a question a client asked and write the answer to it.  If one person asked that questions there will certainly be others who will appreciate knowing the answer.

Katrina Thomas - Your fears are shared by many who first start out here. It has been my experience that the fear quickly diminishes the more you post. I doubt that you are talking about things that violate the rules here, so just get started. You will find your voice by beginning and changing along the way. It is a fantastic voyage, but you have to get started! 

Katrina ~ I understand that feeling. Your experiences are unique and they will resonate with other agents. How do you overcome the feeling? The same way you win listing appointments. With professionalism, tenacity and being yourself.

Don't worry about it! Blog about your personal interests and others who share your interests will comment on and follow your blogs.

I know that few will read it, but google will notice and once in a while the right person will find the right post.

Just write what is on your mind and format it nicely and people will respect what you do and if they don't it doesn't matter.

It does feel like that. There are so many blogs, utube videos, websites. It is easy to be lost. Yet, if you feel you have an important message to say, why not to express it? You never know who reads your blog till they tell you:)

Just write provably your comment or blog is the answer for any of us.  Never underestimate your knowledge.

Katrina ....Blog and they will come! We all feel like you do at some points, but I can promise you ....just don't take anything personal and just keep blogging! Ir will really pay off!

Figure out who your target audience is. Most of the time...I'm not writing to my regular AR member friends who read my posts. I'm writing to be found by the consumer. Keep this in mind, too, when you select your title. What will the buyers are sellers be searching for...what keywords will they use. Then pretend you are sitting down with one of them and start writing. Imagine the questions they might ask, and go from there.
