I think it would be nice to have as well, but at the same time, I like the idea of someone monitoring and awarding secret points for those that are doing things the right way, while also catching those just trying to take advantage of the system and taking points away from them.

It is easy to see how new members will get confused on the points system with no obvious way to find the current information.

I thought they already did, but maybe I am just imagining that?

Yes, it would be helpful to have that (and an updated one). I believe there used to be a sticky post/featured post in the newbie group for this. And, many have been asking for it.
I think it was also in all that start up stuff we got...but whatever was there the last time I looked was rather outdated. I think Brad Andersohn might have written it.

Kris Neese - as long as members know about the basics, that's fine. Knowing too much becomes too much of hassle - even for staff and you'll end up getting many requests to adjust the points because of this.
As much as I love extra points, I am in the favor of simple system - points only for blogging, commenting, re-blogging etc. Likes of the posts and comments may lead to some members teaming up with others to boost their points - and may not be genuine.
I have seen some members like ALL the comments on their posts, just because someone cared to comment and even if it did not have anything to like about it!
I can go on and on - on this topic, believe me!

I think this would be very helpful and eliminate a lot of confusion.

There have been posts explaining everything except the new Q&A and I'm curious about those, but I think I pretty much know the rest or can find it.

It would be very nice to have a single location providing the current guidelines on points.

When I sigend up I had no idea about the pionts and how they worked for several months. It could overwhelm members until they are ready to soak it in.

I don't see any reason that the public would be concerned with our pointage.

Yes, because I see people who have thousands of points who have not posted for up to THREE years!!! How does that happen?
