Everyone has abilities, but the pioneers of change- the true leaders- are the ones who use those abilities to "Make Things Happen". These are the people who test the boundaries and explore new areas and, in the process, they bring about positive change that benefits us all.

Valerie Whiteman has always believed that sometimes you have to break the mold to initiate change. Having been a single mother for years, she learned to be very independent and not shy away from challenges. Everything she has done throughout her life shows her commitment to being her personal best. Her commitment to her clients is the MOST important aspect of her career.

Valerie´s drive for excellence helped her to accomplish much professionally. She brings that string of accomplishments and the skills that she developed over the years to her career today.

Valerie was a Professional Interior Designer for sixteen years. This career helped her to both keep abreast of what was happening in the building and design industry, as well as  to understand the thinking of her clients. Listening to and understanding the needs of her clients gives Valerie the ability to focus in on what they are really looking for.  Listening is the most important ingredient in consulting.

After leaving the Interior Design industry in 1982, Valerie opened Tradewind Title Service. She owned and operated Tradewind Title for 8 years but sold it in 1990 to join First Union National Bank in their Mortgage division as a Mortgage Loan officer. For the next ten years, Valerie developed Realtor, Customer and Community relationships in Myrtle Beach. Every year she was recognized for her outstanding performance and was honored locally and corporately for achievements and contributions to the industry and to her community.

In 1999, when Valerie decided to make a career change, the same skills and abilities that made her a leader in the past were applied to her new career in Real Estate. Taking those tools (the stepping stones that make her one of the most knowledgeable Realtors) that she had developed over the years, she went to work as a full time Real Estate Agent.

A self-described workaholic, Valerie has earned an impressive record of successes in her years as a professional in the Myrtle Beach Grand Stand area and now in the Cherokee County area of GA. Her slogan is "Let's Make It Happen". - And she always MAKES IT HAPPEN FOR YOU!

If you put your faith in Valerie's ability to provide you with quality service, honesty and an unstoppable commitment to professionalism, you will be assured that you are making the right choice with her as your Professional Real Estate Agent.

Technologically skilled to serve your every need.

Today there are a number of new terms being used in the Real Estate market.  One is "Short Sale" and contrary to its name it is anything but a short process.  A short sale is a sale of real estate in which the sale proceeds fall short of the balance owed on the property's loan. It often occurs when a borrower cannot pay the mortgage loan on their property, but the lender decides that selling the property at a moderate loss is better than pressing the borrower into a forclosure situation. Both parties consent to the short sale process, because it allows them to avoid foreclosure, which involves hefty fees for the bank and poorer credit report outcomes for the borrowers. This agreement, however, does not necessarily release the borrower from the obligation to pay the remaining balance of the loan, known as the deficiency.  Each case can be different, and it takes someone who works in this specialty field on a regular basis to be able to both explain the process for each type of loan for the borrower/seller and to process the transaction to completion.  I am here to help you, to explain what this process is all about, and how it can effect you and your credit.  Hopefully you will feel free to contact me with any questions.
