Our team concept is about accountability. We're a small group of individually owned businesses, not a large business providing ancilary services. That's important because we depend on each other's integrity and problem solving abilities. We don't sweep problems under the carpet (and every transaction has a few.) We provide a united effort to make each transaction run as smoothly as possible. We intend to keep our client base for a lifetime, not just one transaction.
After 29 years in the real estate business I've learned how to "eat an elephant." I remember looking at my new desk and telephone and thinking "what do I do now?"
We've come a long way since my first days in the business ... we didn't have computers, we didn't have cell phones, we were just being introduced to the "fax machine." We used to actually "present" offers to clients at their homes - after dinner hours. Our offers were two pages long - now we cut down a tree. Our relationships were strong and long lasting. People relied on us for information and had faith in our advice. I believe we've come full circle now. With the information available to everyone (we are literally inundated with information today) it still takes a professional to sort it all out. I do more "hand holding" today than I ever did back in the early 80's when interest rates were 17%. Today my people look at the "process" of buying or selling and are amazed and frightened by the "elephant" in the room. I pride myself in leading them back to the table, pulling out the good silver and carving up a tasty helping of "how to" in this complex market. We're selling more houses than ever today, but we need to slow down and and connect with our clients again. That's why I'm in this business, I know how to "Eat An Elephant."
