I'm just starting my 3rd year in the business.  I've decided to combine my love for 1940's-50's eras and helping people with real estate to become...RetroRealtor!  Who says you can't have fun in your work!  I am moving in the direction of the 'old style' homes!  The kind of house that I grew up in - good old ranchers!  (Even better if they have basements!)  I scour the internet for pictures of 1940's  STUFF and see how a buyer could take an "icky old house", gut it, and make it as wonderful as it used to be!  Make sense???  Only it's very time consuming - there is so much information and so many pictures out there!!!  Of course, it makes the possibilities endless!

This was a major part of my life before real estate.  I worked for Air Canada as a Cabin Services Cleaning Attendant.  When the aircraft came in, my little group would rush in and "turn" the cabin so it was clean and ready to go out again.  It was a great job - regular pay, no responsibilities!  Just show up, do your work and go home!  I was there for about 7 years, 4 of which included the long commute between Abbotsford and YVR, on a graveyard shift.

Recognize this?  Yes!  It's an Air Canada Puke Bag!  We were required to insert these into EVERY seat pocket.  I can't really say why, because I have seen first hand, that people do no use them for their intended purpose!  I have seen puke bags full of garbage, and puke bags full of HAIR, but 9 times out of 10, the puke ends up on the floor, the seats, and even the sidewalls!!!!

I, along with my co-workers, have been through many lay-offs.  During the last one, my husband urged me to take the Real Estate Licensing course, and so I did!  I actually did something smart during my time away from the airport!  And when I came back, being on a graveyard shift gave me the time to study at work! Ha!  Yep, there were many nights with not much to do, and my workbook was my best friend!!!

So now here I am, a REALTOR!  I still have a full time job, but it now has responsibilities and no regular pay!  What have I done?!!!

Probably the best thing in the world!  It has it's ups and downs, but short of winning millions in the lottery and doing ANYTHING, I'm very happy to be in this line of work!

After I got my real estate license, I was told to "shop around" to decided which company I would join. Well, Keller Williams was my first and ONLY stop! The KW family is unique!
