Congress has extended and expanded Homebuyers Tax Credit. The federal tax credit will be extended the $8,000 credit for first-time homebuyers through April 30, 2010. But that's not all, the existing homeowners can qualify for a $6,500 tax credit as long as you have lived in your home for five consecutive years out of the past eight years. Now, Only for the military personnel, the credit has been extended through Decenber 1, 2010. In addition, buyers who enter into a contract written before April 30 will have until June 30, 2010 to close escrow. This is a good way to celebrated the New Year of 2010.
