I have lived most of my life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia; a place I'll always call home. I have always been passionate about design and decorating. Even as a tweenster, I would incorporate design and functionality into my own personal space to best suit my individuality.
As a single mother raising three daughters, plus working full time in the architectural/graphic design profession, I still found time to continue my education in interior design, one class at a time. "I gained so much knowledge and lifelong skills, but eventually realized that I did not have to acquire a degree to show my talents. I felt the need to explore other options. I realized that in this economy, I could help families show their houses. With the expertise and training offered to me through Home Staging Resources, I'm now able to combine my love and passion of decorating and design principles, and provide the home-buyer with a "feel home" connection. Or, for homeowners inclined to remain in their house, I can provide a refreshed and redesigned home that matches their lifestyle and personality.
I take pride in our extraordinary services. I am a participating member of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners (ASHSR) and Real Estate Staging Association (RESA). I'm also also affiliatiated with the New River Valley Association of Realtors (NRVAR), and certified through Home Staging Resources."
our House 2 Home, LLC continues to update skills and education on a continual basis. I"m guided by a classic sense of style, balance, design ethics, and vision to make your house a reality to the homebuyer or to the homeowner wanting to stay. Drawing from a background of 18+ years in design, function, and aesthetics, and with thorough training as a professional home stager, I'm able to create the look that will sell your house or make your daily living feel more like home.
I work closely with real estate agents by providing them several levels of service. From an initial consultation, a top ten priority report, to a 2 day staging project prior to an open house. I provide knowledge to agents and clients the importance of:
Getting Your House Ready to Sell - there are many step to preparation. I meet with the homeowner for an initial consultation with step by step instructions and recommendations that will bring their property more money and sell 50% faster.
De-personalizing - I will take the responsibility of playing the "bad guy" in telling the homeowner their house "stinks". Removing Clutter- Homeowners don't recognize their home as being "a mess". I will mark items to stay for staging, those pieces that need to be packed up, and note the clutter that needs to be eliminated. Fixing Up the House Interior - I'm very perceptive to flaws that need attention. I put on my "buyer eyes" to detect items that need attention. Painting, carpet shampoo, cleaning windows, etc. This is something that the homeowner can do, or I will recommend a "handyman". Fixing Up Outside the House - It's all about curb appeal. The potential homebuyer may not be able to see past the untrimmed trees, or the dead (or too long) grass. I will make recommendations for planting and trimming to better draw the buyer in.
Our House 2 Home - where "our passion will bring you home".
