Hello, and welcome to my page!
I first obtained my license in 1989, and worked only part-time and eventually as a referral agent until 1998. I went full time in 1998, in market conditions very similar to the current climate. For me this was a great learning opportunity!
During the ensuing years I would be recognized by my broker, a national entity, on both the local and regional level for my performance as an agent. For me it was a great opportunity, because through this business I have learned so much about my neighbors, my community, this area, and even some interesting facts about the history of this state as it relates to real estate.
However, I am a teacher at heart, a coach, a trainer. This is what I love to do. Whether I am helping a buyer understand a complex issue in the buying process, demonstrating to sellers how the marketing tools I use are well worth the investment of a commission, or showing new and experienced agents different methods to be more effective in their service to the consumer public, it is all about teaching and I love it! Currently I am a licensed real estate instructor, and serve at Essex County College as an adjunct professor, teaching the salesperson and broker pre-licensing courses.
What I love most about this business is that it allows me to earn a living serving the needs of my North NJ neighbors. My business is service! Therefore I work to learn more and more about the market I serve and its unique characteristics so as to be most effective advising consumers. And I get to help others professionally as well! I have a high view of the responsibility and duty we as real estate professionals owe our neighbors, customers and clients. I convey this to my students both in pre-licensing and in sales training. I am convinced that the better any agent learns to serve, the more successful she will be. I urge students and agents to de-prioritize money as a goal and to super-prioritize serving. I challenge them to focus on taking care of the consumer, because I have seen repeatedly that those who do so are well taken care of by consumers. Basically, if you are there for them, they will be there for you. The most successful in our business have discovered and practice this truth.
That is all for now. Feel free to call or email me with any questions! I would be glad to talk. And YES! I am available to conduct training seminars at your office or event. 2008 is the "roll-out" year for this portion of my business, so I am sure you can afford me. There are geographical restrictions that I must observe because of loyalty to my broker.
I look forward to hearing from you!
