Melanie Hockensmith is a full time Realtor who enjoys making her clients dreams come true.  She comes to the table with many years of loss prevention experience insuring minimal loss and maximum gain from working for a Fortune 500 company. She was a safety and security instructor for thousands of individuals helping the company achieve a record 750,000 hours worked without a lost time accident. Melanie has been certified in CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillation.

Melanie takes great pride and specializes in finding first time home buyers the right home for them in the quickest time possible and with easy financing, often with low down payments. She keeps up to date information with government tax credits and the Homestead Act.

Melanie is a member in good standing with the National Association of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, the Metropolitan Regional Information Systems and the PenMar Association of Realtors.

Melanie believes that education is vital to success and has completed an intensive Advanced Individual Training Service with Johnny Loewy covering a variety of topics including marketing listings for quick sale to negotiating contracts and helping sellers in danger of foreclosure. She has also completed a course from Floyd Wickman on succeeding in a tough market.

In her off time, Melanie enjoys bowling in a women's bowling league and attending the Pennsylvania Women's state bowling tournament. She also loves working with her flowers in her garden, and reading the latest books and articles on real estate news and home staging techniques.

Melanie is originally from Albany, Oregon but moved to beautiful Chambersburg in 1979. She moved to the Northwest Arkansas area in 1990 to complete school but ultimately decided to move back to Chambersburg 7 years ago where she now lives with her loving and supportive husband Brett and their two sons. Melanie takes a great deal of pride in showing off the area she knows and loves.

Melanie feels that being a Realtor is about more than joining professional associations, she believes Realtors should be involved in the communities where they work as well. In addition to volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity, she also volunteers for the Hamilton Heights Youth League as a team mom, concessions helper, and provides support for the league president.
