I started selling real estate 5 years ago - realtively new to the business. My background prior to that primarily consisted of property management on the east coast.
When I first started, real estate was bombing, agents were selling homes and everyone was happy. I on the other hand, hadn't lived in the area long and didn't have a contact base which meant that I didn't have a business and was starting on the ground floor. Like many new agents, I knew what I wanted to do, but I didn't really know where to start. In that market, short sales and foreclosures were few and far between. I was lucky enough to get my first listing off an open call and so it began. A family facing foreclosure an needing to sell there home for less than they owed. At the time, other agents laughed; as I struggled with it, I kept trying to convince myself that it was a good learning experience. And so it was. From that experience, I was able to build a good relationship with the asset manager and when the short sale failed, I was immediately assigned the listing after foreclosure. During that time, I was asked to do an occupancy check on another property - no they didn't want to pay me - but I decided to do it. The result in the first of many REO listing.
Everyone knows the demands placed on REO agents but I have always been willing to do the extra work. I love what I do and that makes working easy. Rest assured I will commit to giving your referrals the best experience they can expect. I will work hard to keep both your good reputation and mine.
