How do you truly thank two people who started out as points of contact for helping find a home in the Palm Springs area who ultimately became very special friends? This is what happened when we began our journey to locate a property through realtors Maria and Mike Patakas of Keller-Williams.

Over the course of almost seven months, Maria and Mike dedicated their time, talent, and enthusiasm to help “two grumpy old men” find a home. In those moments that included many surprises, the tediousness of trying to understand and work through foreclosures, short sales, and regular sales, the “almost have one”—and then the news that it wasn’t meant to be—Maria and Mike maintained the highest levels of professionalism and ethics—even when we weren’t always at our best.

Yet, the weekends of driving back and forth from Los Angeles eventually paid off. From what we are sure were more than 75 properties shown led us to the place we now can say is our “desert home.” In retrospect, it was all worth the wait. We would like to give a very enthusiastic thumbs up to the Super Realtors, Mike and Maria Patakas. We had been looking for just the right house for almost a year, my husband would do most of the shopping and when he found ones that he thought would work he would show me. We did a lot of open house hunting as we did not want to waste any realtors time until we were serious.

Our goal was to merge 2 families comfortably which can be a challenge!! My mom was moving in with us as soon as her home sold so we wanted to be prepared. Once we were ready to move forward we did try to work with a couple of realtors but we just did not make a connection. Our only criteria for working with one realtor over another is if they a) understood what we wanted and b) we felt comfortable working with them.

Mike and Maria not only met both of these criteria, they far exceeded our expectations. We had the comfort of feeling that they truly cared about us finding the perfect home and always had our best interest in mind. Not only did they zero in on what we wanted, but went out of there way to make it happen. They made us feel special even though we were not spending a million on a home. They were never too busy to answer questions, help us make decisions by outlining our options (not steering us in any directions, just making all options clear), and were patient with us even when we could not make up our minds!! They even welcomed our little toy Yorkies that we like to bring everywhere we go.

My husband, my mom and myself really like Mike and Maria and hope we will know them for a long time and will never consider using anyone else for our Real Estate needs. They are the BEST!!
