Hello, my name is Loren Castillo. I'm 32 years old and have been in real estate for 10 years. I bought my first house at 22 which I rented to my roommates which paid my $700 a month mortgage which I wish I still had. By the time I was 26 I had 5 homes I was either renting, renovating or lease to owning to people. I've also built spec homes in the past but that wasn't the best experience so I don't think I'll be doing that again. I went to school for my real estate license because I saw how much money I was leaving on the table in commissions from my own purchases. I reluctantly started in real estate as a career at 26 and did very well seeing as there are a lot of agents in the world that have never bought a house of their own and couldn't relate to the stress of the situation.
I think that if you have worked in this industry for more than 4 years full time than you should be given a doctorate in psychology because if you don't understand the inner workings of people than you won't make it that long here.
I moved to Portland Oregon, a place I had only drive through before, and started a team here. Our first year we did over $20,000,000 in sales and I had 5 agents working with me. Times were good, then the economy tanked and we got hit hard. I decided to take some time off for other projects and was recently approached by eXp Realty to do recruiting for them. After taking a closer look at their very unique business model I jumped on board and started building the office here in Oregon.
Things couldn't be going any better here and I look forward to many more successes.
I specialize in education for eXp Realty. My main focus is to help other agents find the best path for their career.
