I've lived most of my life in Morris/Hudson/Essex counties in Northern New Jersey. I grew up in Madison in the 1960s. After college, I commuted into NYC for a year before moving to Hoboken, where I was part of the vanguard in the 1970s. In 1990 my husband and I and our 2.5 year old daughter Megan moved from NYC to South Orange. We bought our first house in Maplewood, and sold it 3 years later and moved into the house of our dreams in South Orange. I was a very picky client (the kind who took forever to find the right house); it took two tries to get it right. I looked at so many different houses, and in several different price ranges, that I felt like a real estate agent myself. I always kept the thought in the back of my mind that I might like to be in real estate. My agent for those two houses, Bea Ledden (who was then with Degnan Boyle Real Estate in Millburn) was the soul of graciousness and patience.
So now, many years later, I am a real estate agent myself, and loving it. I still live in South Orange; my daughter is a sophmore in college and my son is a freshman at Columbia High. I love to show houses, and help people find a town and a neighborhood, as well as a house, that suits them.
I've lived in Maplewood/South Orange for 16+ years, and know it and the surrounding towns well. I'm also an active artist, involved with the local art community.
