Floridians by choice since 1988, but still a lot of Pennsylvanian shows through! After working as a Real Estate Paralegal in Philadelphia for (too many) years, I yearned for an easier lifestyle. When my son graduated high school and my daughter was entering high school, I felt that was the time to make the move, and so we did! Close to 20 years later, and you couldn't ever convince me to put on a pair of boots, a hat, gloves and wield a snow shovel, dig a car out or face icy winds through the wind tunnel valleys created by the downtown high rise buildings. I sure did love Spring up north, and Summer at the Shore, but now I have that all year, and I invite you all to come see for yourself! There's something special and almost spiritual living at the edge of the continent, watching the sun rise over the Atlantic, knowing my Irish parents crossed that very ocean many years ago, seeking a better life in America. And now, their grandson, my son, Ted Uszko, III, graduated University of Florida (go Gators) and he's joined me in the real estate business, known as the ByTheBeachRealEstateTeam! I've sold just about every type property over the years and Ted's showing the same enthusiasm for diversity. He has, however, added Property Management to our resume due in part to our ownership of investment property and his many (hard earned) hands-on repair skills; mostly, though, Ted has a real nice way with tenants, and he has a gift at quickly analyzing and assessing a situation. Occasionally when there's tension, Ted diffuses things with his unintimidating and genuinely caring manner. Ted's still a bachelor, but I remarried a New Jersey Italian transplant in 1995, giving our friends the opportunity to refer to us as "half-gaelic and half-garlic." My daughter is not interested in real estate, but is always there to help us with marketing, referrals and mailouts. She thinks the 24/7 real estate lifestyle isn't even for the birds! But Ted and I thrive on it, and love meeting new people, finding the "right" property, working with lenders, attorneys and inspectors, and getting folks into their new digs seamlessly!
Hi from Sunny Southeast Florida where I've been a Realtor for going on 20 years. Twenty years builds up a huge wealth of information about FORT LAUDERDALE, WILTON MANORS, POMPANO BEACH, LAUDERDALE BY THE SEA and their suburbs - as my son (and business partner) often says, "You don't even know how much you know!" Over the years I represented a local bank in selling their Foreclosures, so I have a great deal of knowledge in that area; I've probably closed over 1,000 transactions and be assured that I learned something from every one. Some clients are in house #3 on my watch - such a delight for me to see them go from rental to condo to first home. I've tried to decide what I like the most between listing and marketing a property, or working with first time buyers or moving-up buyers or relocation or downsizers or retirees or beach area/waterfront getaways or investment property. There is no one area that I love to the exclusion of another. Although I must say I sure did enjoy relocating a small company once where I found them an office building, a beach area condo for one executive, a waterfront house for another and a rental for yet another. I've worked from investment groups to newlyweds 'cause - at the end of the day - it's all about a good value and a smooth closing. My 15 years as a paralegal before moving to Florida contribute enormously to good documentation and paperwork trails, and my love of detail has made many a transaction comfortable for all parties involved. I believe in our real estate business and the MLS system and have personally moved three times since becoming a Floridian and have personally bought and sold a bunch of investment properties, I'm proud to say I've earned my CRS and my GRI (as well as a few other in-house designations). Quite a few out of town clients entrust their Florida properties to my son and me for Management, all of which folks give us glowing recommendations (gratefully). So, we're a bit of a one size fits all - I often say I wouldn't sell someone a property unless I would buy it myself, and I've actually refused to sell a few places over the years because I was that uncomfortable with what the buyer was falling in love with. They all thanked me later when we found the "right" home! Every closing usually ends with a big hug which is my favorite "perk" of all and keeps me "up" and "excited" about Broward County, Florida, its terrific diversity of real estate products and the terrific diversity of people who have walked into our lives, became client and are now friends!
Eileen & her son/partner, Ted, enjoy the diversity of Fort Lauderdale's real estate: beach front, waterfront, homes, condos or investment property, they know where the values are! And the SUN, too!
