Born and raised in California I have lived in 5 different states and I can finally say I have truly found paradise here in Northern Idaho. In 1997 my parents retired and wanted to move to a beautiful mountainous region, they had decided on Missoula Montana. Mom was on her way to Missoula to get a storage and start the move and somehow got lost and ended up here in Sandpoint. She called Dad and told him about it and realized that my sisters best friend from childhood had married and moved here, they showed my Mom around and she liked what she saw, Dad came here and fell in love with it. One of my Sisters followed and soon called me and said Sis It's Paradise here. That's all I needed to hear. When I came across the long bridge , WOW Breathtaking! A feeling of Serenity, in awe of all the natural beauty I was surrounded by, A feeling of safeness, what more can one ask for. I fell in Love with Sandpoint.

I come from a large family, with 5 Sisters and 1 Brother and I have 3 Beautiful Daughters who has givin me 10 wonderful grandchildren with number 11 on the way. Nestled at the base of the Selkirk Mountains in North Idaho's Panhandle region, the community of Sandpoint can be found 60 miles south of the Canadian border and 75 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington. At an elevation just over 2,000 feet. With a population of approximately 6,000 residents, Sandpoint is located in a land of uncompromising natural beauty on the northern shore of Lake Pend Oreille (pronounced Pon-da-ray). A spectacular, glaciated body of water 43 miles long, Pend Oreille is the fifth deepest lake (1,158 feet at its greatest depth) in the United States with 111 miles of shoreline. Its pristine waters are a major factor in the community of Sandpoint's high ranking as a premier tourist destination.

With all four seasons here and so many things to do, why would you want to live or vacation anywhere else. 25 miles to Silverwood theme park, 9 miles to Schweitzer Ski Resort. An abundance of wildlife, waterfalls, hiking, rafting, skiing, boating, fishing. The world record rainbow trout, 37 pounds, was taken from the lake in 1947. A world record 32-pound bull trout (referred to at the time as a Dolly Varden) was taken from Pend Oreille in 1949. And a 43-pound lake trout was recorded in 1994.
