Get to Know Karen Leonard Maxwell
Hello I'm Karen Leonard Maxwell,My goal is to assist my clients with their Real Estate needs.  I work in the all ares of Hamilton County home selling and listing markets with a bit more concentration in the Ooltewah area where I live with my husband and two children. I was transferred here for my job in 2000. Long since the job is gone I have happily remained here in Chattanooga Tennessee where the flowers are beautiful in the spring, the summers are warm, the fall leaves are golden and the winter...well you never know what kind of winter we will have here in this beautiful town.   I have worked in the Real Estate industry for 16 years on many sides of the transaction. I started my career in 1996 as a building consultant for a builder, moved over to the mortgage industry where I worked as a loan officer for 4 years then moved to the wholesale end of mortgages until the market crashed in 2008. I then began my journey to become a REALTOR®. I enjoy working with people and helping them achieve their dream of finding the perfect home. Weather you need to sell a home first or you are a first time home buyer I am here to help. Share

Certifications

I am Karen Leonard-Maxwell and I am married to Tim Maxwell. He works for TVA at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. We have 2 children, Hannah who is 12 and Landon who is 4. Hannah attends OLPH and Landon goes to Hickory Valley. They both love playing soccer and I love being their soccer Mom!

We live on a farm with 5 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats and a parrot named Noah. I rescue Brittany Spaniel Dogs and work closely with the National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network.

Having worked in business for nearly to 20 years, I began selling homes for a scattered lot builder. That is where I learned quite a bit about mortgages. I enjoyed the mortgage business and stayed with mortgage retail for about 4 years, then migrated to mortgage wholesale. When the mortgage meltdown of '07 occurred, I was laid off.

I chose to stay at home with my son, Landon until January, 2011, when I decided to work at a real estate office. I received my real estate license in April 2011 and went to work for Re/Max Properties in June of 2011. There, I worked with Geoff Ramsey and as of October 2011 I have closed close to 1.5 million.
