Jim is an experienced Distressed property expert with certifications as an REO specialist, Short Sale professional (CSP), as well as a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE). James is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, Delta Association of Realtors and a graduate of the Alain Pinel Realtors Masters Training program. James has also completed his nationally recognized GRI designation from the Graduate Realtors Institute with an average grade of 92%. The GRI designation is considered to be the most advanced and comprehensive training program available to Realtors. Jim’s passion for ongoing education and knowledge of an ever-changing industry has consistently given him the edge in a competitive profession.

Prior to his involvement in Real Estate, Jim worked as a sales team leader for a high-tech industrial distributor in the South Bay. Now, Jim feels privileged to be able to work and raise his family in the Discovery Bay-Brentwood community where they have lived for 10 years.

Pia Carlson, wife and mother of their 2 daughters works full-time with Jim. With extensive experience in marketing and sales, as a Presentation Designer for a large investment bank and as a former Marketing Manager for a commercial and residential developer, Pia applies her creative talents behind the scenes as The Carlson Teams Director of Marketing & Public Relations. As a Licensed California Real Estate Agent, Pia also supports Jim as his full-time Licensed Assistant.
