Hamish Tear is a Scot who has lived in the USA for 27 years: 20 years in Vail, Colorado; seven in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Between Scotland and Colorado, Hamish's mountaineering and ocean-sailing skills took him on expeditions to the Arctic, the Alps, Africa, South America and ultimately the Rocky Mountains. During his travels, Hamish wrote and photographed for international magazines to finance his way. Included were: Yachting Monthly (UK); Mountain (UK); Sail; Cruising World; Powder; Ski; and Teton Homes and Living.
He also shares his passion for expeditioning on Western rivers with his wife and two boys. His profile image is taken on the Grand Canyon.
In Vail, Hamish and his wife, Susan, created and operated a highly successful Scottish imports business 'Scotch on the Rockies', while Hamish also worked as a back-country ski guide on the Tenth Mountain Division Hut System in the Central Colorado Rockies.
In Jackson, Hamish has turned his photojournalistic skills into a much more technical, and practical, specialty - Real Estate Photography.
The marriage of high-resolution VR Panoramas and Elevated photography, bring two unique and powerful photography concepts to create one great marketing tool - real estate photography at its best.
The Elevated system creates an overview of a home 'within its environment' - rather than an unimaginative and in-informative photo of the flat front of a house. This is especially useful for larger properties, small ranches, steadings and so on - where there is a depth to the property and perhaps several buildings.
VR Panoramas contain a 'WOW' factor that puts the viewer into a fully immersive and interactive visual experience of the property to be viewed. Some say these are 'Virtual Tours on Steroids', although Hamish prefers to dis-associate himself from virtual tours altogether.
For even larger properties and ranches, golf courses etc. - Hamish can provide seamless VR Panoramas fro helicopters. See:

Elevated and Panoramic real estate photographs enhance listings with a powerful visual message. This unique collaboration of these two types of photography put listings into a distinct category.
