Get to Know Gary San Soucie

I was born and raised in South Carolina, until my senior year in high school (many moons ago), then I moved to Hoover, AL. After graduation I spent the next 20 years in the Air Force working in various jobs from Security Police to Education & Training. I had the privilege of traveling the world and living overseas, but I knew Huntsville, Alabama was where I wanted to plant my roots.

After retiring from the Air Force I thought I would have it made. Just chilling out and living the dream! I tried to sit around on the couch with my retiree hat on and watch tv all day...that got boring. I went fishing a lot, but it's really hot out there. And I can only cut the grass so many times in a week. So I figured it was time to grow up and get a "real job", and there was only one choice for me....a Realtor! I love meeting new people, looking at houses, and the adventure of match making between a client and the perfect home excites me. I had tossed the idea around a few years prior to my short lived retirement days and couldn't think of any reasons not to go for it. And it's one of the best decisions of my life...besides marrying my beautiful wife, Erika, who is also a realtor.

I met my wife when we were about 8 years old while we were bowlers in the local kids league in Charleston, SC. Our parents became great friends and Erika and I never lost touch of one another. It took close to 30 years, but I asked her to marry me and she said yes. We both bring two children and a dog each to the marriage, so we are officially the Brady Bunch. Plus we got our first "fur baby" together, an English Bulldog. So with 4 teenagers and 3 dogs our lives are busy, but we wouldn't trade it for the world.

If there is such a thing as free time, I would enjoy fishing, golfing, traveling and of course hanging out with the family. At least until our teenagers don't think we are cool anymore.

I work at EXiT Realty North, with an amazing group of people. Everyone there makes you feel like family the instant you walk into the door. For such a small amount of people they produce GIANT results. It just goes to show you don't have to be the biggest guy/gal on the block to be respected. It's all about how you treat and take care of the people you encounter, and I don't think anyone can do it better than the ladies and gentlemen I work with.
