Quite simply put; Life is a metamorphasis
I grew up on a farm in Michigan and after high school; I began a new life in Southern California, got married and started a family. Besides having raised 3 children, my passion is painting and decorating. Over the years I painted or sketched things I love: the sea, whimsical fantasy, people or whatever came to mind. I often drove my Father to distraction with my incessant re designing rooms at home. Meanwhile, life progresses with twists and turns that you hadn't planned on, so the dream sat on a shelf in my heart for many years. While spending time at home with my children, I would decorate rooms and paint walls for family & friends or anyone who was willing to try something different. Art has always been my heart's passion and has flourished into a love of Interior Decorating. I get inspiration everywhere I look.
While in high school, I studied with the Famous Artist's School of Westport Connecticut. In 2004, I graduated from Thomson Education Direct, and was certified by Interior Decorators International, Inc. I have studied almost everything Barbara Jennings has written on Home Staging & Redesign. Other than that, there is no list of exhibitions or awards ... just my art and design work in people's homes.
About 10 years ago, a dear friend's birthday was upon me and my wallet was on a diet. While taking out the trash, I spotted a fabulous sparkling rock lying on the ground. I love bright shiny objects!!! I took my last $8 dollars, went to a local craft store and bought a few little bottles of paint along with a cheap brush (and I do mean cheap!!!), I went home, scrubbed and painted that rock just for her. This started an unexpected momentum! I couldn't keep up with the requests for my rock art. It was then suggested I "live on the edge" and paint murals. After receiving tons of praise and one very dear friend continually asking me why I was working for someone else, I decided to start my own business. A couple of years later, I studied Interior Decorating, then staging & the rest is, as they say ....history.
