Get to Know Kris Simpson
I have been a part of the real estate industry for many years and a sales professional for over 30 years. I spent over 20 years selling many of the successful PC-based computer solutions developed for use within the industry. The software applications I sold included Escrow Processing, Mortgage Document Preparation, Title Policy Production, Loan Servicing, Foreclosure Processing and County Recorder Cashiering/Recording/Document Imaging. I traveled the Western United States in these efforts and learned a great deal about the different ways real estate transactions were handled state by state. When my husband and I moved Oregon I decided to pursue a dream I had for several years, to become a licensed real estate broker and utilize the knowledge and experience I had gained from my previous career. I continue to absorb as much information and education as possible, particularly in the "new market" that we are all experiencing. It has been quite a ride and I am sure it will continue to be so every day.
My husband and I enjoy target shooting (not animals) at the outdoor shooting range we belong to. We use paper targets, paper plates, bowling pins, and peel & stick bullseye targets. The range we belong to has many different types of ranges to shoot in and yardage lengths. The range hosts many competitive events from SASS to IPSC to Trap shooting. We have met a lot of nice people there of all ages. It is a fun sport.
I am a NRA Certified Refuse to Be A Victim instructor. No it is not about using guns. It is about being aware of all the ways you can become a victim in today's world and the habits you should practice every day to be safe. This includes, but is not limited to, safety on the internet, in your car, in a shopping mall parking lot, at the bank, through the mail, on your cell phone and at home.
I promote and support several animal groups that help pets find homes, get emergency medical care and the love they deserve. I am a volunteer for CAT (Cat Adoption Team) in Sherwood, Oregon. They are the largest NO KILL cat adoption facility in the Northwest. They have their own veterinary facility and all cats are spayed/neutered before they go to new homes. There are many wonderful volunteers there that work hard to place over 3,000 cats every year in new homes.
Certifications
I concentrate on Residential sales, and enjoy working with Buyers and Sellers. I primarily concentrate on Washington and Clackamas counties but do not limit myself to those areas. I particularly focus on the listing and sale activities in Sherwood, Tualatin, West Linn, Lake Oswego and Wilsonville and post Summary Reports of Single Family Home listings on my web site once a week for listings priced up to $ 500,000. I live in Tualatin and have several easy access routes to all these cities without having to get on the freeway, as it is right in the middle of them. Plus it is a great place to live !
I like the creativity of marketing a property for sale and have taken as many as one hundred pictures of a property sometimes to use on internet advertising, flyers and in the listing information. I also use them in property specific web sites and virtual tours. I print up signs for different rooms to point out the special features to potential buyers and their agents. My computer background has served me well for these purposes.
Finding the right home for a family to buy is also rewarding. Sorting through all the listings, previewing properties and showing those that my clients are interested in pursuing and writing their offer is labor intensive, but when I am sitting with my client in the escrow signing and seeing the look of excited anticipation on their faces, it gives me a lot of pleasure.
In all instances I believe that being professional, keeping my clients informed throughout their sale or purchase, tracking the details of each phase of a transaction, and following the rules is important for all concerned. A healthy sense of humor also helps. Laughter after all is the best medicine.
