An Enterprise Zone is a specific geographic area targeted for economic revitalization. Enterprise Zones stimulate economic growth and investment in distressed areas by providing communities with an economic development tool which offers state and local incentives to existing, new or expanding businesses in these designated areas.
The Imperial Valley Enterprise Zone (IVEZ) is located in parts of Brawley and portions of Imperial County and sits just 25 miles from the border with Mexicali, Mexico. It provides a business friendly environment with an abundance of land, reliable low cost energy, water and other natural resources. The area is one of the fastest growing counties in California with a population estimate of over 165,000 people by 2008.
Enterprise Zones can save a business thousands of dollars through tax credits and other benefits. The Enterprise Zone credits and deductions are available to individuals, sole proprietors, corporations, estates, trusts and partnerships operatering or investing in the zone.
