Certifications

Over the past seven years I have been involved primarily in sales and marketing of investment land- banked properties. By establishing a close connection with the builders and developers in the Central Oregon community, I was one of the top real estate producers in 2005-2007. A majority of the properties that I assisted in purchasing and selling involved a development component.

I helped Dan Varcoe, owner of Gilchrist Real Estate, establish his Bend office. When Dan Varcoe contracted Lymphoma cancer, I managed the paying of his bills through a Christian Foundation that I had established. I also coordinated a large group of young volunteers  to refurbish Dan's La Pine home.

The most important aspect of my involvement in real estate has been the one of integrity. At an early age I learned the importance of "keeping your word." A contract truly has no more meaning than the paper it is written on. My faith in God and living according to the Bible is what all of life comes down to.

This is especially true in sales and marketing. The interaction and relationship of buyer and seller in a transaction involve true transparency and integrity in one's character. I believe that every person that walks in the door of the sales office could quite possibly be a life time friend. One of the hallmarks of who I am is the boldness to step outside the sales office door and engage in conversation with complete strangers. Engaging people in conversation and forming personal relationships and friendships is really what life is all about. Other lesser important aspects of my experience involve the following points:

I have been involved with real estate renovation and development since 1996, relating to projects in San Diego, CA, Maui, HI, and Scottsdale, AZ, as well as Central Oregon for the past eight years. From the years of 1988 to 2002, I have owned construction companies which specialized in high end home and hotel, stone and tile renovations. I also owned a cross country trucking company utilizing five semi-trucks and trailers. Extensive sales and marketing of these businesses were of the utmost importance.

I have developed subdivisions and created hobby farms in both La Pine and Terrebonne and worked together with my partner in land development, John Short. John and I worked together in the preliminary development of a 5,000 Ac. destination resort adjacent to the well-know Oregon builder, Pahlisch Homes', Hidden Canyon project on Powell Butte.

On the personal side, I am President of the Frontline Foundation, assisting Central Oregon Christian non-profits. In additional I am on the advisory board for the annual Sagebrush Foundation's week- long event in July. The Sagebrush event helps to assist 104 non-profits in the Central Oregon area.

I also serve on several non-profit and community association boards and especially enjoy working with youth and mission related groups.

In my spare time, I enjoy  running, sailing, hiking, mountain biking and participating in sports activities with my wife, Anne and my three children.
