• I bought a home today for my family through Quicken Loans.  Pretty simple sentence, right?  And there are probably literally hundreds of families today who could say the same thing.  I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about your people behind this one simple sentence.  Dana Staniec called me moments after the relocation company said that Quicken and two other companies would be notified that I was in the market for a mortgage.  Dana was so positive, so professional, and so easy to work with that I never considered working with another company.  With every home sale there comes a moment of truth, and for me and my wife it was on a Saturday afternoon when we found THE home for us.  I had a question for Dana, and she was right there to help even as she and her husband were out looking for their own home.  To make the loan a reality Dana put me in touch with Gina Sanchez, who I think has one of the toughest job in the world...the interface between emotional buyers and steely underwriters.  Gina was always a consummate pro, whether delivering good news or bad, and always did it with a deft personal touch.  It's not an exaggeration to say that today's one hour closing was the result of at least one hundred hours of phone calls and emails with Gina and Dana.  They were always at the top of their game, and made an arduous process enjoyable and easy.  Their can-do spirit was infectious.  You must be incredibly proud to have people like Dana and Gina on your team.  With folks like them you can do anything in the world.  If you're ever near New Jersey my wife Wendy and I would love to have you for dinner.  It is, after all, your home, at least for the next thirty years ;)  Hope all is well, and thanks for an incredibly positive experience.  Denny M. •  Hey Dana!  Just wanted to give you a big "thanks" for being there with us through the whole home buying process. •  We recently completed a cross-country relocation and bought our new house in California using a loan from Quicken loans. The housing crisis has resulted in a significant tightening in California both in terms of how much documentation you need to get a loan and in terms of what sellers want to see from a buyer to convince them you can close the loan.  I was therefore pursuing 2 loans in parallel:  one from Quicken, and one from my credit union.  The terms were better from Quicken, but I was worried they might be more trouble than my trusted (non-profit) credit union.  I was wrong.  The Quicken loan progressed much faster, and their online documentation system made it so much easier to submit the information they requested.  After 2 weeks I had completed everything Quicken wanted, and every time I had a question I could pick up the phone and call my loan officer, Dana, to ask anything I needed to know- which I ended up doing a lot.  You have no idea how much easier it is when you can call one person all the time and they know you by name and know exactly what stage you're at.  At the credit union I would call and get different random people every time who would then "pull up my file" and give me sometimes conflicting answers from what the last person said.  With Dana at Quicken if she couldn't answer the question she would conference in the person who could and stay on the phone with me while I talked to them (for instance she conference in the funding officer when I had a question about bank account statements needed to verify funds- and got me the answer I needed right away).  Both my realtor and the seller's realtor were also a little skeptical about Quicken at first- but, guess what, they got the same service I did- they could call Dana too- and she kept us all on the same page.  The average time to close on a house in CA has gone up due to the new loan requirements to about 6 weeks now- and still many times the closing gets delayed because of all the paperwork the banks want now.  We were motivated to close on time and early if possible since we were living in a hotel, and Quicken came through- in less than 30 days.  Both my realtor and the seller's realtor told me at the end that they were astounded- neither of them had seen a loan come in early in the past year and a half- and since the housing crisis they both said Quicken had been the easier to work with than any other lender they had used.  In fact, they both told me they would be recommending Quicken to their clients going forward.  Robert C. •  I was notified about my transfer, it was the 2nd one in 2 ½ years. All I could remember was here we go!! The company gave us 3 choices to use Quicken and 2 others. One of the others I had used before and had some success with so I sort of started leaning that way. I had called 2 of them when I received a call from Dana. To make a long story short it was a blessing she called because I was having trouble hooking up with the others.  She was patient and never pushy. In my mind I still wanted the former company because I had worked with them in the past and had my bank account with them.  After several days of trying to contact and reach them I had Dana go ahead and start the paperwork to see where we were because I had found a house I was interested in. That is where the fun started. It was a foreclosure that had just come on the market (as is) while in the negotiation and inspections it got real fun. Through the on again off again closing she never show any sign of disgust or giving up.  We eventually got the house closed with some repairs done that needed for the inspector and she and I was both able to rest. • Working with the folks at Quicken Loans was an absolute delight.  There were no surprises, there was clear, precise, and pleasant dialogue, and the processing and under-writing of the loan were efficiently completed.  The loan options were clearly and accurately explained, the costs were presented clearly and correctly, and those costs were appropriate and reasonable.  The approval process was straightforward.  We had no doubts throughout the process that we'd be in great shape for the closing.  And we were.  The Quicken team was wonderful to work with.  The Quicken personnel became friends and allies in the process, and the interactions were low-stress and enjoyable.  The folks I worked with knew their stuff and were nice to boot.  This was my fifth home loan.  The first four loans were secured with local financing.  In those instances there was a lot of paperwork, the portions of the process felt intrusive and uncomfortable, and there were often surprises.  The Quicken Loans lending process was much simpler, more relaxing, and, dare I say it, almost fun, because by the end I felt like I was working with trusted friends.  I will likely contact Quicken Loans again to discuss options the next time I am looking to secure a mortgage or refinance.  The one caveat is that, with the rate I got on this loan (4.25% for 30 years), I may never move again!  Dave M.
