Get to Know Claudette Poole

The last five years have been a challenge professionally.  I did not have enough trouble so I decided, at a friend's urging, to become a Realtor.  I-I-I, as Ricky Ricardo said.

For 30 years, I sold plants for a living.  And Garden Art, ie. fountains and statuary. My customers were garden centers, big and small in the Southern California market.  But the industry, like many others, fell into hard times and many growers and brokers went out of business or downsized or were purchased by bigger, more corporately run companies.  Many good people lost their jobs and I was one, on more than one occassion.

I sold my home in a short sale in December of 2010.  It was an extremely sad experience, having been a homeowner since 1975.  So when I passed my real estate exam (the first time!) I decided that I wanted to arm myself with information that could help people like myself re-capture the American Dream of homeownership.

It's embarrassing, humiliating and makes you want to hide your head in the sand when you lose your home.  But what are you going to do?  Everyday is a new day and so I decided to make it my mission to help get the info out to the people that need it.

Today I attended an Open House put on by the Allison James team.  I met a young gentleman (they are all young these days!) that does a blog about the latest lending requirements.  You will be seeing that information here when I receive it and figure out the best place to put it!

I am also a bit of a horticulturalist.  AKA Plant Nerd.  Don't ask me the botanical names, as I have forgotten more than I ever learned, but I can tell you if it is hard to grow or will grow at all in your area.  And can help you get your yard ready for the sale of your home or help line you up with professionals to upgrade your new home.

Plants make people feel good.  That's a fact, and so does home ownership!  Hmmm, maybe there is a tie in there!
