Get to Know Carol Schunk

I was born in Oakland (Bergen County) New Jersey.  When I first started visiting Port Charlotte in 1978, I knew it was time to leave the long cold winters up north and enjoy year round living in sunny Southwest Florida.  I moved to Port Charlotte with my family in 1984, opened a restaurant and soon became highly recognized in the business community.  As years go by, the boys are now grown and on their own, we've since sold the restaurant.  My husband, Barry and I have resided in North Port for the past 12 years, and have watched this area grow in leaps and bounds.

As I got older, I started thinking that I would like to change my profession to Real Estate.  It's a very rewarding profession where I have gotten to meet such nice people.  My Partner and I have a booth in our local Flea Market for the past three years, where we have met and sold Properties to customers here and abroad.  I have taken many classes at our local Board of Realtor and belong to the Top Agent Master Mind Group.  I specialize mainly in Foreclosures and Gulf Access Waterfront. My experience, dedication, loyalty and hard work has given me the edge I need to be successful.

I now work with Keller Williams Realty.  I believe that Customer Service is #1.  I have always embraced this work ethic and philosophy.  I have the knowledge and the business savvy to give my customers the type of service they deserve.  So if you're buying or selling your house or property I will give you a very positive experience from first contact to closing and beyond.

I specialize in Gulf Access and Foreclosures.  Living here in the Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, North Port area for the last 26 years, right on the Gulf of Mexico, I find it easy to relate to customers looking for Gulf Access Properties.  These properties hold a great deal of value as there is only so much Gulf Access and even less for sailboat (no bridges to the Gulf) use.  One of the main reasons people move to this area is all the boating, fishing and other water activities.  That, along with the great year round weather, making it a wonderful place to live.  Money Magazine voted Port Charlotte as the #1 place to retire in America for 2009.

And then there is the Foreclosure Market.  Back in 2005 (after Hurricane Charlie) this area went through a great deal of rebuilding and new construction.  North Port, in particular, had such a high inventory of new construction that there is still some housing out there that has never been lived in.  Then came the recession that put a lot of people in this area out work.  People couldn't pay their mortgages and they went into foreclosure.  Over the past 2 years I have had a lot of experience with the foreclosure market.  All and all you can call this a true Paradise, I call it home and so can you!!!!!!
