After a very successful career in sales, sales marketing and sales training, I decided to hang up my tool kit, and retire
along with my husband Barry - who'd spent 30 sweltering years in systems developement in DC for Uncle Sam. We were sick of the oppressive HEAT & Humidity of the flatlands - so we both wanted a "cooler enviroment". I, having hiked a good portion of the Appalachain Trail over the years, KNEW of the 2 unique "micro-climate" regions east of the Rockies and I knew where I wanted to go! However, Barry is from New York and had spent a good deal of his youth in the Catskills - his inclination was to relocate there; so we "compromised" by visiting Tahoe, northern California, Van Couver, Main & Nova Scotia; we then visited Banner Elk & Beech Mountain - one of the "Micro-climate" regions! HOME at last! After some time traveling, doing hobbies and lotsa reading - we both became restless. I missed the interaction with people and Barry wanted to be "productive" again........ so he became the Directorof the BEECH MOUNTAIN CHAMBER of COMMERCE and I entered the real estate world - for FUN! AND.......FUN it has been!! I have met and dealt with some the most WONDERFUL PEOPLE in the world! I get tremendous satisfaction helping folks find just THE right home! AND, EVERY Client has become personal friends for life!
My MISSION is to use my knowledge, ecperience and extensive training to serve my Buyer & Seller Clients above and beyond the "call of duty" with honesty, integrity, service and commitment and to make them FRIENDS for Life!

I attended the University of NC Charlotte and majored in Biology; afterwards, I was an instructor at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. In the mid 80s, I left teaching to become and build a very successful manufacturer's rep agency. During that time, I took extensive sales & marketing courses and became an Assistant Trainer for Dale Carnegie Sales Courses. I later entered medical sales and excelled in both sales and as a sales trainer. After moving to Banner Elk in 2000, I took courses, became licensed as Realtor/Broker; later earnd the coveted GRI and ASP designations. I will soon have my CRS designation.
Being in a resort area, primarily a second home market - I specialize in helping folks find THE perfect "get-away" - one which meets their desires, expectations and budget! I believe it is very importand to educate buyers, first on the area and then on the Market; I like to show them everything (within their budget) available first, discuss what I know about the property - then let them chose what they want to actually see - it's NOT about what I chose to show them - it's about what THEY like and can potentially and comfortly afford. I do the "legwork" and layout the ground work for them - then they can see and pick for themselves. When we walk out the door to go see houses - WE are having FUN!! I believe that the more knowledge & training one has - the better equipped to really HELP one's clients.
