Why I'm in real estate and why I love it!
I began my real estate career a little over 12 years ago as I was concluding my college studies. My undergrad work was in Biology with the intent to land a sales job in pharmaceuticals or medical supplies, or to go to Physical Therapy post-grad school. I started working as a settlement officer for a title company since the hours fit my college schedule. It was at a time when closings were happening quickly and often (before the boom, but before heavy regulations).
Friends of mine were real estate agents and I thought, "since I understand the title portion (and mortgages, as I also was a loan officer), it would be great to get a real estate license." I quickly learned and absorbed as much real estate as possible - helping a broker start a small real estate office. I became the agent and understudy, and quickly became passionate about transactions, negotiating, education, technology, and office infrastructure and how to make an office better for an agent.
I moved on to open my own RE/MAX office in Philadelphia (circa 2005), beginning with only 1 agent - myself. I recruited and mentored over 40 agents and have most of those same agents today. My philosophy is simple: treat my agents and my cliens as I would expect to be treated. It is basically "the golden rule" and I live by it (something many people claim to but rarely do anymore). So regardless of the time and energy spent, I will keep going until my clientele's expectations are exceeded.
While I can assist with many areas of real estate, I specialize in 1st Time Home Buyers, Seller Representation and the Move-Up Buyer. I also assist many landlords with finding tenants for their investment property.
