I owe my career to bowling. Yep, bowling. The kind with the pins and the balls and the smelly shoes.

I was a substitute on a bowling league team one night back in 1984. If you've ever seen me bowl, you'd know they wanted me for my handicap. Unfortunately, more than one handicap would appear the moment I approached the lane. On this particular night, one of my teammates said that a certain law firm was looking for a title searcher. 'Why not?', I thought. 'Can't hurt to talk to them'. I went to interview and, lo and behold, I got the job. $3.37 an hour! Woo Hoo! I was ON MY WAY.

Within 2 years, after a stint at a title insurance company as well, I ventured out on my own as an independent researcher and rather liked it. A few years later, I was busy as all get out and my husband's broadcasting job was ending due to a format change. We decided to open our own title research firm with our last $600 and the rest took care of itself. Wonderful success and tremendous blessings abounded. Fast-forward 17 years and we were closing the business to retire to Florida at the ripe old age of 45.

Retirement was great-- all three months of it. One day I realized the highlight of my day was holding a plastic bag as I followed the dog-- I needed a job! I did what every other Central Floridian is required to do at some point after moving here-- I went to work for Disney. Great training ground, but I missed the real estate industry. I longed for the deadlines and the relationships founded, knowing I was helping someone into their American Dream.
