Hello! and thanks for giving me the opportunity to introduce myself.  Like many of my contemporaries, it took a career or two to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up.  Many successful Realtors had another vocation before entering real estate.  Mine was 15 years as a senior level financial executive.  That background in financial management, planning, and consulting helped prepare me to be the "Business Professional for Personal Real Estate" for my buyer and seller clients.  I moved to this area in June of 2009 and focus my work on buyers and sellers of residential properties in and around the Sandhills region of North Carolina.  I serve Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and all of Moore County, as well as Fort Bragg and Pope Army Air Field in neighboring Cumberland County.

Having more than 29 years in the real estate profession, I now apply my experience and training to help sellers, buyers, and investors realize their real estate dreams.  When you and I work together, the most important time we spend with one another is at the outset when I focus on understanding your wants, needs and values to be clear on what those goals are.  Then we implement a plan to achieve them.  I believe professional excellence starts with a learning-based mindset, and I have secured the GRI, CSP, SFR and CDPE desginations while pursuing my own professional development.  I also devote a significant portion of my time to teaching agents at all levels of experience and/or achievement.

On a more personal note, I'm a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a graduate of theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (BSBA, 1975).  Yes, I bleed Carolina Blue.  Many of my family members went to UNC, and I love going back for games and reunions every chance I get.  Thomas Wolfe, the distingushed author from Asheville (who just happened to belong to my fraternity while at Chapel Hill) was wrong.  You can go home again, if going home means going back to UNC.

I am the proud father of two amazing young adults, and the grandfather of the cutest little girl in the whole world.  Real estate can be all consuming, so I make a reasonable effort to counter balance my work life with personal time that is either restful, refreshing or educational.  That list starts with golf.  Living in the Pinehurst area and having all these courses to choose from is a dream, and yet another love of mine is horses, and we have more horse-related properties and activities here than you can imagine.  I've already said I love going to Chapel Hill on occasion, and I really like spending casual evenings with family and friends over a good meal with a bottle of wine.

I want to close by saying I believe it to be both an honor and a privilege to work with the many buyers and sellers that I've helped find solutions for their real estate needs.  You see, I don't believe my job is to sell houses, but rather, help people who have a piece of real estate that no longer fits their needs convert it into the financial resource that allows them to find one that does.  When you look at it that way, I'm attached to my clients' best interests, not the house of the month some builder or other agent happens to be promoting.  When I am your agent, It's All About You!
