I know, I'm not part of the love fest, don't get me wrong, I like Apple products. I just wish they were a little more useful.
I have a second gen iPad, is great for my son to watch movies on when we go on trips... Ok, that was the pros.
Cons.
Complete lack of pen input (sorry guys - that phat stylus does not come close to making a good signing tool).
No flash - if you notice, a lot of real estate tools are still flash based, so not being able to use the mls IS a deal killer for me.
I do pretty much all digital docs, sign on tablets, and I never being the iPad with me, Samsung galaxy note 10.1 is far more business oriented.
My use is based on the idea that this is a work tool, and for that, no amount of "cool" can replace the things it doesn't do.

It's partly my fault, as I just haven't time to spend on what I consider more an entertainment tech. I have an iPad (with a keyboard cover) and an iPhone, but my trusty laptop is my work horse. Email, Top Producer, and my MLS are my main working programs. I've taken several classes on the iPad. Maybe with some time off through the holidays, I can put some of that info to use. And, I can see why it would be handy when traveling (although I have no trouble just taking my laptop). Wondering if other busy Realtors are finding the same situation. Or if you have ideas that might change my attitude.

I have had my iPad 3 for over a year. I have tried to fall in love with it, but it just wouldn't cooperate. I just found it clunky to work with. I kept thinking I wish it would do this or it would be easier if it allowed me to do that. My wife was mostly playing solitaire (and some other tasks) and we decided to get another tablet. Since I wasn't thrilled with the iPad, we decided to get a Galaxy. My wish list has been fulfilled. I am sad to say though, it isn't fulfilled by my iPad (which was a lot more expensive). Guess what I am writing this review on.

iPads are not as easy to use as I have heard many say, including my son. Of course things are easy to use when you already know how to use them. My plan for my iPad is to use it for listing presentations. I've had my iPad for about 2 months now and each time I take it out ... I am left with nothing but frustration and I put it away. Time is an issue. I can turn on an PC and navigate me way to just about anything. I turn on my iPad and can navigate to just about nothing. It's not easy and it is not intuitive. I may have an iPad for sale soon.

I love its flexibility to go where I go whether I am traveling or just watching television is the family room. I even sit on my front porch with my iPad on my lap along with glass of wine in my hand.
The iPad is so much lighter than my laptop and has no cords. (unless charging)
I love its speed. I can turn it on and have an instant connection. Not so with laptop or PC.
Instead of depending on WiFi my iPad has an internet connection which I highly recommend. It only adds $10 to monthly cell phone bill.
Now, let's be honest. The iPad and Activerain ARE NOT USER FRIENDLY, at least I have not found a solution. I have written several posts recounting my trials, failures and success with photos. Best advice: use Dropbox or similar App to transfer photos to iPad from other devices.
Learning how to function without Microsoft products has been another challenge.
Overall,I am glad I purchased my iPad.

We recently went on a trip and my lap top is heavy and takes lots of room so my husband bought a new I-Pad as I could not afford the weight nor the room. Getting on the I-pad on the different sights I needed to was so easy. The only draw back is I had not figured out if anyway to up-load pictures with my camera. I am taking this to Chicago and am going to try take pictures will write another review about that!

When we travel I need to take my business with me. When we are in the car I rely on it for internet connection, posting on Facebook, blogging, and keeping in touch with clients. For the most part I am able to conduct business as usual- and that's important! iPad from Apple is great!

Of for goodness sake, agents don't really need the bells and whistles. If your budget is a bit tight, you don't even need to be able to access the internet from anywhere in the free world.
You need a tablet that will connect to the internet in a "free" wi-fi zone. You need one that will allow you to connect with you MLS provider. It should also be able to make use of one of the many electronic signing providers.
That's the list.
Ipad will do that... I think. I would provide a much more detailed review if Apple would send me one. I have seen them. I have heard about them.
I have dreamed of owning one. I know they are great ...
in my dreams

Since I started using my iPad, my laptop has become stationary. Hard to beat for mobility, I find the iPad convenient for emails, blogging, writing notes during education sessions, and of course Internet access.
I love that it is ready when I am, no long waiting for it to power up, just open the cover and it's on. I haven't
had it that long and feel I've only scratched the surface of the available apps but I'm using Evernote, Echosign, Dropbox, and QCards from Quantum Digital, just to mention a few, and it's compatible with my MLS.
I took it with me on an overseas trip and it helped me to function sufficiently without having to carry a much heavier laptop around. While it doesn't do everything, I wish I had purchased the iPad sooner and can only recommend it.

The iPad is amazing and is a great productivity tool. I find the iPad is best for reading documents, viewing videos or presentations and playing games. The iPad is not very effective for writing or using a spreadsheet. i have even purchased a keyboard for my iPad trying to change my behaviour and get through email on the iPad, but it is not effective. Maybe old dogs can't learn new tricks, but I prefer my laptop in general. A MacBook or super thin Samsung laptop may be the better solution for me.
