It has been a year since I purchased my first iPad. I wasn't sure it was for me so lurked and watched others until I was convinced that the product was viable. I absolutely love it. The portability can't be beat. The ease of use and the way it interfaces with my iPhone and MacBook is so sweet. I hope to keep it a while longer and when an upgrade comes out pass my old one down to my husband.

If you want to save a bunch of trees, the iPad can help you. I use it when I'm previewing and showing properties to store the listing information that I need. And with the voice recognition software, you can answer your email and even write Active Rain comments by speaking into the little microphone. The iPad also has a superb camera and a photo editing app that has produced many a Speechless Wednesday or Friday's Fotos post. And there are apps that allow you to download books on pretty much every site that allows e-book downloads. Finally, this handy tool of the trade gets very high marks for quality construction. I'd give it a Ten Star rating if they'd let me.

The iPad has filled a void between my smartphone and my computer (desktop or laptop). I can access information anywhere with my iPad and that has made my life much easier. I can have clients sign documents on it, search for homes on it, view traffic, do calculations and oh yes, it can keep me entertained while I am waiting for a client.

I have used the iPad for over a year and use it in listing appointments, showings, open house sign in's and paperless transactions. I still use a laptop for some things. but the iPad apps are quickly replacing most things I do on it.. DocuSign, Evernote, iAnnotate and Open Home are some of my favorite apps.

I never thought I could get so dependent on a device. I still have the original model however each new iPad that comes out is trying my patience.
I will buy another iPad without hesitation! However it's hard to replace something that still works so well!

Don't know how I got along without one. Now on my third one (iPad 4) and writing this review on it. Make sure you add the 4G option so you can always be connected to the Internet. The ipad started my conversion to Apple products. Now I am fully converted and much happier.

I know, there are some folks who are going to say that the iPad is inferior to X Tablet. Put any name you want in X. They're just trying to support their buying position. The iPad is a Realtors dream to be paperless in the field. I have all my transaction information available to me wherever I am. I can email documents in seconds.
The differentiator is the number of real estate related apps available for the iPad, compared to other tablets. If you don't think it makes a difference, it does. The iPad has far outsold any other tablet, and developers know that to create useful apps.
I'm actually considering getting the new iPad mini as well.

It's partly my fault, as I just haven't time to spend on what I consider more an entertainment tech. I have an iPad (with a keyboard cover) and an iPhone, but my trusty laptop is my work horse. Email, Top Producer, and my MLS are my main working programs. I've taken several classes on the iPad. Maybe with some time off through the holidays, I can put some of that info to use. And, I can see why it would be handy when traveling (although I have no trouble just taking my laptop). Wondering if other busy Realtors are finding the same situation. Or if you have ideas that might change my attitude.

Could I do business without it? Sure. Same with my laptop, desktop, cell phone, my fax (uh, e-fax!), my GPS, OK, get the point? I've been in this business for 25 years and have not always embraced technology, but I do tend to get on the bandwagon in due time. No different with the iPad I finally bought this year. And like so many other tools, it makes my job SO much easier! I could set here and talk for an hour on how an iPad will make your life so much easier, make you look so much more professional, and save you a ton of time! I won't do that here, but I will say, I RARELY use paper anymore. I don't have paper folders for clients anymore. I print MLS sheets in PDF format, and they are delivered right into an "Evernote" file, (my most favorite time saving app!) where I line up my property tours, and often hand them the iPad and let them navigate! If a buyer is interested in a house and wants to write an offer, we look up comps and write the offer, often right there in the house, right on my iPad using zip forms. They even sign the offer and I even email it, often while still in the house! Again, in a short paragraph, I can't scratch the surface of advantages of having an iPad. If you don't have an iPad (or any other tablet for that matter), you should!!

It is small, flat and fashionable for even the manliest of agents. It has changed totally how I do real estate. I fax, Scan , Email, Search MLS®, Open Supra BT Keyboxes, Type up contracts and clients sign directly on the iPad. My clients like it because they have an instant copy email to their phone and no more handwriting. My contracts have been clear and are sent with 1 less fax wash. It is easy to learn how to do it. I bought a step by step guide from www.paperlessrealestate.ca The principle's they teach can be used by any agent, anywhere in the world.
Using the iPad for real estate has totally changed my life. I have to tell everyone to come out of the stone age.!!
