My nightmare actually started June 2014 when I was getting a steady stream of phone call leads from ... more My nightmare actually started June 2014 when I was getting a steady stream of phone call leads from people visiting my website and then realized I was not getting calls any longer. I went to the site which WAS WWW.BUYCTPROPERTY.COM. When I got there, there was a generic real estate search engine-type site and not mine. I logged in my website account and my site content was all there and couldn't understand what was going on. Having a networking technical background and fearing the worst I went to WHOis.com and put in my domain name only to find out it had expired TWO MONTHS prior. I figured there was some kind of mistake and opened a problem record with Websitebox (formerly Realtysoft) support. We went back and forth with questions and responses and the gist of it was they screwed up and allowed my annual domain name registration to expire and another company brought it up in order to rent or resell it for several hundred dollars. I told support to just pay it since it was totally their fault and they refused to. To add insult to injury I reviewed my invoices from them and a couple of months prior to my domain renewal time, they charged my credit card the annual fee to renew my domain. THEY JUST DIDN'T DO IT. Of course I heard a ton of "I'm sorry" from them, but they were adamant about not paying to get my domain back and was just hoping I would go away even closing out the problem record with no resolution. Of course as realtors we have access to attorneys and I consulted a few who concurred because they were physically based in Canada at the time of my problem it would be a long dragged out litigation task if I were to try and sue them for helping to ruin my business. The best I got them to do is refund several months of charging my credit card for a domain that obliviously not up and running and even though I got back most of my money they ironic thing is they did not refund the lousy $20 domain renewal fee. This is a company you should be extremely careful doing business with because there are plenty of reviews showing how wonderful their service is, but just like any service company you really won't know how good their service is until you have a major problem and that's when it will all come out!
