Some time ago, I wrote about the on-going problems we were experiencing in getting the ‘bugs’ worked out of our new website that we had purchased from Websitebox in January 2014. From the outset, this website was plagued with programming glitches that resulted in a poor end-result experience for any visitor to the site. The problems experienced ranged from: 1) The site unable to give viewers using any IE Browser full view of all information on the screen. 2) On specific properties viewed even using Firefox, or Chrome; the entry for several specific property aspects is obscured by overlaying on other page entries. For example, # of Bedrooms, the number overlays ‘Bedrooms’, etc. 3) On our Office Listing Page, out of over 160 properties Active in the MLS, only 4 show up. I gave the Support staff at Websitebox the multiple brokerage MLS numbers used in the IDX, but they seem unable to allow for multiple numbers. 4) And perhaps the most frustrating, when communicating via email to the support staff, I would have to do so multiple times and finally post my communication directed to the party I was trying to communicate with via the Websitebox On-Line Chat portal. The technician would continually say he never received my email when finally in conversation. 5) Hand-in-hand with #4, constant apparent stalling by the support staff at resolving and communicating. I finally have had enough and this morning demanded the return of all money spent and that demand has gone unanswered even when I posted it in their Chat Portal. I will next contact my credit card company to see what can be done. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra money and use a recommended website developer and do not think a discounted site will give you the results you are expecting. To further prove the problems and frustration, here is a log of the dialog I have had with Websitebox support staff: You are now chatting with Mark Sanchez (Support) Mark says: Welcome to WebsiteBox Live Help, how may I help you today? Sandy Padula says: I have tried repeatedly to email Geoffrey for an update on repairs to our website and I am not getting any response. Please advise. Mark says: Hi Sandy, let me check with Geoffrey, give me one moment Sandy Padula says: The issues below are still alive and haunting visitors, plus the other issue about not having Office Listings is still a problem. As of this moment, only 4 office listings appear, those that do have no tile photo, and there are over 60 active listings for my office at this moment. Other issues that our site has and I am sure we are not alone on this: 1) When a user accesses the website using IE, fields are cut-off. 2) When viewing specific properties, field boxes with the correct number, for example # bedrooms, the number is overlaid other text on the webpage. These problems are not associated with just one computer at one location, so I know it is not attributable to my primary computer. Sandy Padula says: Hello? Sandy Padula says: Hello? Can this be fixed so visitors can finally see our office listings? Thanks, Norm Mark says: Hi Norm, Geoffrey is currently is in a phone call at the moment, give me one moment I will check that one out for you Norm Padula says: OK this has been going on since the website was initiated over 6 months ago Mark says: Was a support ticket created for this issue? Norm Padula says: I have lost track, Mark says: you can actually add those MLS ID to your account by logging in to your control panel Mark says: go on the Listings App, and then Manage MLS and go to Settings Norm Padula says: And will the results go to the Office Listings tab? Mark says: Yes they will be, assuming that there are active listings under those Offices Norm Padula says: I don't understand why over all this time, no one ever told me this? AGHHHH! Mark says: Really sorry about that Norm. I will check out with Geoffrey once he is done with the call just to get a better idea of what exactly was done on your account Guest says: Mark's instructions did not work as the MLS manage is looking for the agent name to be added, as well. We have over 300 agents in the office. I am not going to add every agent to display the office listings 8-19-14 You are now chatting with Geoffrey (Support) Geoffrey says: Welcome to WebsiteBox Live Help, how may I help you today? Norm Padula says: For Geoffrey: Any luck on the fix? Geoffrey says: I am just waiting to hear back from them for an update but I think we are soon. The issue with the data they found first is that the office ID is actually different in the data feed then what you gave me which is why things were taking so long but once the new one was entered the gadgets didn't update so that is what they are looking into right now so I did ask for an update today so hopefully it will either be fixed or I will have more to tell you tomorrow but we are almost there for sure. Norm Padula says: We are anxious and would love to start using this site....someday Geoffrey says: I know I can understand why you are but we are almost there and I will continue to apologize that it took this long to get here. Norm Padula says: Thanks just let me know when fixed, I check it multiple times through the day, so I just wish to get going with it. 8-27-2014 You are now chatting with Geoffrey (Support) Geoffrey says: Welcome to WebsiteBox Live Help, how may I help you today? Geoffrey says: Hey Norm, I was actually about to email you I just found out it should be resolved. If it isn't let me know. Norm Padula says: For Geoffrey: It is not resolved. I have been very patient with this process and I need to have this site repaired and working properly, otherwise I would like a full refund for the site and the add-ons that have been purchased. It is of no use to me, nor my business when it does not yield a pleasant site visit experience. Please advise Geoffrey says: When did you last check on it? Norm Padula says: Right now Norm Padula says: Using Mozilla for my browser Geoffrey says: Ok then I will have to send it back and get them to look at it today. I will send you an email before I leave today to advise you as far as what is going on. Norm Padula says: Thank you! 8-28-14 Hey Norm, I do apologize for not getting back to you last night as I promised. They are working on the issue and have promised me daily updates so I will get back to you every night or the morning after with whatever information I have. If you have any questions or concerns then just email me and I will get back to you within 24 hours. Geoffrey Customer Success Specialist tel (866) 857-1657 x.1115 | fax (888) 330-0247 | Geoffrey: I can no longer wait for this long overdue repair. Please review my account, and have your accounting department issue a credit back to my credit card. These delays are unacceptable and without a web presence, this site is a negative value as it will drive potential clients away from our services. Please let me know when the credit is issued so I can confirm it with my credit card company. The account name is (Info deleted for privacy) I then contacted what I thought was their Sale Office via the Chat option, I got connected with one of their Support Staff who was 'automatically' identified as in Sales. I suspect this to be a 'boiler room' operation that is not going to refund my funds. But your know what? I will get my money's worth out of them by hopefully [preventing others from making the stupid mistake I made based on the positive reviews from other Active Rainers.
