I had a static website which I converted to a Wordpress blog. I had been looking at other real estate professionals' websites and realized that I was lacking a robust property search feature on my site. As I was browsing other agents websites I started noticing which IDX feed they were connected with and two emerged as clear leaders in website integration, one which I ultimately choose to use with my own site (http://www.LiveInAnnapolis.com) was Agent IDX from IDX Inc. A little over a year later (Nov 2012), I am very happy to report that I definitely made the right decision to a) include an IDX feed in my website and b) to choose Agent IDX as my provider. Customer and clients that visit my web site often say to me how easy it is to use my web site to search for properties. I love the feedback from them. That reinforces that I made the right decision to choose Agent IDX. Initially IDX Inc customized their IDX feed to look like my blog post. I've since made some minor modification to the HTML wrapper around the IDX feed - but - I didn't have to. The out-of-the box implementation works well. I really did not have to do anything else. This of course means that I have time to focus on writing blog posts about cities and towns, or neighborhood and subdivisions. Agent IDX allows me to link readers directly to the list of homes for sale at the lowest level I want. So if I'm writing about "Homes For Sale On Oyster Creek In Annapolis Maryland" (http://liveinannapolis.com/homes-for-sale/homes-for-sale-on-oyster-creek-in-annapolis-maryland/) I can include a link to the properties in the post (http://idx.liveinannapolis.com/i/12549/Homes_For_Sale_In_Oyster_Harbor_In_Annapolis_Maryland). Of most importance to me was the ability to capture visitors contact information when they were browsing properties for sale. Agent IDX allows me to set the trip point when as to when a visitor has to register. I've got it set after they view a few properties to force registration to see more. Give them a good taste, but, if the want to get their fill, they have to register. It was also important to me that registrations were sent to TopProducer8i so that I could apply an automated action plan to follow-up with the visitors that registered. I have an automated action plan that e-mails them from time-to-time following sign-up. Visitor traffic at http://wwwLiveInAnnapolis.com is up. Over the last 12 months I've had over 20,000 website visitors coming to look specifically at properties for sale on my website. Conversion is very acceptable. Closure is something that I have to work further on - but - don't we all. All-in-all, I give Agent IDX at five start rating.
