I bought the first iPad WiFi with 3G because I knew there would be times when a WiFi signal wouldn't be available and I was committed to a paperless office. In two and a half years I have seen apps become easier to use and more powerful. The iPad makes it possible to have all the documents you need at your fingertips. There are apps like Noterize or Neu Annotate that work very well with .PDF files. In the last six months, specific apps for signatures and text entry have been introduced. You don't need to subscribe to expensive services but you do need to have a plan for going paperless. You need to create master documents and have a file structure to keep everything organized. I have been able to do this so easily with my iPad. I will say the one limitation no the first generation iPads was uploading pictures from the device. This is a limitation of iOS 5; iOS 6 allows access to your photos or to the camera in your device - iPad or iPhone. Now I have the ability to take photos and upload them immediately. The camera connection kit lets me see my pictures on the spot, a huge timesaver. I know I got the pictures I needed before leaving the clients home. I use Evernote and Dropbox to maintain access no matter what device I am using. I love the iPad and would recommend it to any agent as the device of choice. The mobile real estate apps make it easy to find out about a property when you are standing in front of it, impressive and a time saver for buyer clients.
