I purchased an I Pad 4 a year ago. I've had a Macbook for 7 years and I-phones for years so I like the compatibility and seamlessness of the Apple products. I haven't used other tablets so can not make an educated comparison in that regard. I attended several I-pad classes for Realtors and that has been very helpful in learning which apps are most applicable to run a real estate business from the I-pad and how to use them as well as the I-pad. I have done contracts on the I-pad and although the process was a little slower initially than doing it on my laptop, over time you become more proficient at it. It is great for portability, sitting down with clients and getting rid of paper. There are some limitations using the I-pad where it is not compatible with our FLEX MLS system so there are still things I need to do from a laptop. I remember Realtors questioning why I had a Mac, telling me it was a Microsoft world and also that I shouldn't get an I-phone. I do not regret any of my Apply/MAC purchases. I think it all comes down to what you're comfortable with and if you're willing to learn new things. Use of Apple products is very intuitive. The I-pad has been handy for taking on home showings and bringing up other properties. I can bring them up on the I-pad and make sure we can access the properties rather than having to run back to the office and look them up. Jobs' vision was to provide apps that are inexpensive (I usually have not paid more than $10 for an app) and not costly software such as Microsoft office, etc. And that we could do anything we do on a PC or laptop on a tablet. Some of the apps I recommend include Dropbox, Evernote, Numbers, Keynote, Newsstand, IBooks, Mortgage, PDF Expert and Sign-n-Send. I would recommend getting the WIFI version.
