Motorola is a solid brand however I found several drawbacks to this particular item. This model specifically is no longer available - at least not on Amazon. The biggest wake up call was that out of 1,967 customer reviews, the item averaged a 3 star rating. I'm not a fan of this style of headset anyway, preferring something other than my ear to hold the headset in place. I settled on the Blue Parrot B450-XT - more on that in a separate review! hide

Motorola's Bluetooth headset - Motorola Elite Sliver Bluetooth Headset - is a perfect example of this. As much as Bluetooth is a de-facto standard for the communication between the two devices, it is rarely used as a headset - unless some people want to listen to music by themselves. To best of my knowledge, the web page associated with this product from Motorola is now gone - and hard to find it. This shows how fast the technology changes. The rating based on my previous rating should still be same, isn't it? hide

It is an old technology and is still relevant. I remember the days I would wear this piece of Blu... more It is an old technology and is still relevant. I remember the days I would wear this piece of Bluetooth and talk - and people would think who I am talking to. Since then, we have come a long way. Most of the places, blue tooth connection, means wireless connection - and you do not need to speak into the mike not you need to have the ear piece in your ears. Many vehicles now have blue tooth capabilities making this product dinosaur - however, this may still be useful in rare cases. It was a great technology product then - not anymore. hide

Often I get calls and I just pick up the ear piece and put it on. MY hands are free to take notes and to look up property on the MLS. This can go on for hours and there is so much less stress with this tool. Anyone who is on the phone a lot needs a product like this. hide

Motorola has always been on the front line when it comes to electronics and communications. Their products are durable and are used by consumers, emergency management agencies, government agencies for police, fire ambulance and other services, and around the world. Motorola products are like an old Timex. They take a licking and keep on ticking! According to some who use this, the feed back is that it will give the end user five hours of talk time and will go on standby for days. At under 100 bucks it's a great value. It'll connect to just about anything Bluetooth-enabled. I have heard nothing but positive reviews. hide
