Review for Real Estate Connect

Real Estate Connect - San Francisco is a Blast! (by chardy)

One of the best things about Real Estate Connect is the irreverence. Brad Inman (creator of Inman News) is well-known for pushing the boundaries of traditional real estate thought. He likes controversy. He likes putting opposing viewpoints on stage and watching what happens. There's no punches pulled or homogenized NAR approved propaganda. The San Francisco event is heavily tech-laden with start-up companies vying for VC money and outside-the-industry wunderkinds that share what they know about marketing and service - I saw Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos) at Connect and he was AWESOME! The line up of speakers is exciting and typically cutting edge. They've taken a portion of Connect and put it on the road in the form of AGENT REBOOT. Hosted by Chris Smith and Katie Lance, these two put on quite a show and well worth the admission price for a one day conference. I typically combine the Connect Conference with the San Fran Agent Reboot for 3 days of great ideas and front of the wave practices. If you don't want to shell out the big bucks for Connect, REBOOT is an excellent alternative. Connect is expensive, though (which is why I only give it 4 stars). If you register early you can usually save $450 off the regular price of $1199. There's still a $250 discount through the end of June. San Fran isn't the cheapest place to hang out - but the food and sights are absolutely stunning. Full Disclosure: I am fortunate enough that my MLS sends me as a perk for being one of the managing directors.
