I have been a huge supporter of everything Alex Charfen has done. I LOVE the CDPE course, the week he released the CIAS course I signed up for that as well. They were both well worth the money. The Agent GPS came off as an advertisement for their $8,000 a year coaching program. I emailed the company twice letting them know what I thought of the course, both times I had no response. I received a call about a week later asking what I thought of the course. I was very honest and told them how I felt. Come to find out this follow up call was merely more selling of the coaching program. Stay away from the agent GPS course. If you haven’t taken the CIAS or CDPE, look into those.

My partner and I used Kaplan for our CE credit requirement after being licensed for three years. We were very impressed with the study material that's set us up for success with our first attempts at testing. Kaplan was affordable, and their customer service was satisfactory. We will be using Kaplan again for CE renewal and will recommend to any new licensees looking for educational materials.

My husband and I both attended Kaplan Schools to get our real estate license. He went days over 3 weeks and I went evenings over 3 months while I was working full time. We both received a quality education and we both passed the formal/state test on the first try. I would definitely recommend Kaplan schools to anyone needing continuing education, or broker licensing.

Well - I went to their website and found the following regarding CE for Arizona: "Kaplan is committed to providing you with the education you need to start and maintain your real estate career. While Kaplan doesn’t currently provide its own education in Arizona, we’ve assembled the following search tips to help you find a state-approved school:
Open a search engine within your browser.
In the search field, enter Portal.REcampus.com AZ. You can also add terms related to the specific type of education you are looking for, such as Prelicensing, CE, and Postlicensing.
Execute the search. This will return a list of state-approved online real estate schools." Except it doesn't. Here is what it does: "

Kaplan is the largest provider of real estate licensing support and continuing education in this nation. Kaplan started teaching in 1945. Kaplan also has a long association with Dearborn real estate publications, and Dearborn's been serving this nation's real estate schools for more than fifty years with their publications, Dearborn is at the top of my publication list of favorites for education. Visit Kaplan's fine webpages. Kaplan can absolutely meet, and exceed, your needs for pre and post real estate education requirements. Kaplan also provides the educational resources for appraisal requirements, contractors, and home inspectors, as well as real estate agents. Kaplan works with all fifty state and D.C.

I worked on the Kaplan Real Estate classes for about 4 weeks and then passed the final exam. It took another week to take the State License exam test. I am especially thankful for the Kaplan Quiz section because I was able to continue to take the quiz to get familiar with the types of questions that would be on the State Exam.
I passed and was able to get my license. There are other people in our office that took other online programs and it seemed like they went through a lot of hassles to get the class final exam and it was not as smooth for them to get their license. Kaplan lays it all out and provides everything you need to get your license.
I HIGHLY recommend this class.

So far I have only heard negative comments from new agents in western Pennsylvania about Kaplan online pre-license classes.
Two specific comments: no in depth explanation about concepts covered in class and no real-life scenarios.
Lastly: the test procedure leaves a lot to be desired. One student had her neighbor proctor the pre-license test. Are you kidding me?
Real Estate is a people business and the classes need to be people-oriented as well.

I took the Kaplan course last year. Since I was working full-time I appreciated the flexibility of an online course. Once you sign up you have 6 months to access course materials. It took me about 4 months to get through the 60 hour course, study for the online exam, take the state exam and then take the 30 hour course to get my license. Each section has review activities and then a test. You must pass the online final exam before you're allowed to sign up for the state exam. A con is that if you don't finish reading the entire section and have to log out when you log back in you have to start at the beginning of that section. A pro is that there are tons of questions to aid you in studying via online practice tests. I would recommend this course.

Kaplan gives you a crash course into everything you need to know to pass your state and national exams, and as they tell you on the first day, it is like drinking straight from a fire hose. It can be grueling work and tons of information to process but the study guides they give you to prepare you for the exam is the best study aid around. They phrase the questions in the way you will see on the exam and they get you used to knowing why a certain answer is wrong, rather than what is automatically the correct answer. The exam deals with trick questions and the way Kaplan prepares you for the exam you should pass your first try. Highly recommended.
