For students new to New York City public schools or returning to New York City's public schools after time away.

Pre-Kindergarten								Elementary Schools
The New York City Department of Education offers families the opportunity to apply for Universal Pre-Kindergarten programs throughout the city.								New York City has over 700 elementary schools including 140 K-8 programs.
Middle Schools								High Schools
Each school district in New York City provides a unique set of middle school options for students in grades 6-8.								The citywide high school admissions process offers students the opportunity to apply to over 600 programs in 400 high schools.
High School Alternatives								Adult & Continuing Education
If you are 21 or under, a NYC resident, and are behind in credits or have dropped out of high school, don't assume that earning your high school diploma or GED is out of reach.								If you are over 21 and interested in continuing your education, visit this website to review your options.
