Social Real Estate Blog

Originally from the east coast, born in Connecticut then moved to New Hampshire for my teenage years, I moved to the Midwest after taking an Art Director position at D’Arcy, Masius, Benton, and Bowles (no longer). My diverse background which all had communication and people as a common thread has lead me perfectly to this position as Social Media Director for RE/MAX Best Choice. I have also been an elementary teacher, real estate agent, and an account executive for a web development company. When I was in real estate and Facebook wasn’t the communication platform it is today, I noticed another real estate agent messing around on it. Immediately, I wanted on. After finding less than 20 friends who clued in to the (now) phenomenon, I realized this would be an excellent way of building my business, socially. Rather than simply building a personal page, I noticed that Facebook also had business pages, but they weren’t promoting them as being a key feature. So, I built one to keep my personal life and business life a little separate. That savvy real estate agent (who could have easily qualified for 30 under 30 in St Louis) noticed what I was doing and asked me permission to copy what I was trying to build, a social business. This is when I knew I was onto something. Since that time, with my sharp observation skills, I have been watching, noting and building various business pages on Facebook to create a feeling of community. Business is not about one-and-done, especially real estate. People want to feel connected and as they know you. Resonating with people is what I do best. When I meet people, I like to get to know them, and they feel as though they have known me for decades. It is in no way a false front, but simply my authentic way of connecting with people. It’s certainly a social world in here, which is what I love – to be social.
