It is that kind of day today. The weather here is awful, rainy and windy and leaves flying. Many towns have changed the normal Halloween day to Saturday because it is dangerous today. I watch the fires in California and can not imagine this. We are all impacted by the weather daily, whether in a ...

There is no easy way to say this: confine your pets for Halloween. So many pets are injured, lost or disappear on Halloween due to thoughtless owners not confining them. Children can also be hurt by startled by animals that are afraid of the noises and costumes of the day. The bottom line is plea...

Saturday I drove to Stamford Connecticut with my Margie to meet and adopt DD Beth. DD was in rescue after one of her owners died and the other went into assisted living where dogs were not permitted. DD is 13. I can't imagine the hurt and confusion she was and is feeling. I lost my Billy the Kid,...

I am so much smarter today than I once was. Aging has its blessings and one of those is learning to listen and waiting to decide. As I grow older I learn something often. It is funny how that goes. I expected there to be a period of adjustment and there is. DD is doing well but the rest of m...

On July 6th, I lost my best boy, Billy the Kid. I was and continue to be devastated. Yes, I have multiple dogs but that does not diminish the loss of one. Billy was very special and I will never forget the love and laughs he brought to me. Sadly I can not help Billy anymore, but I can honor him a...

Do you ever have those days thinking about possibilities and consequences. I have them all of the time. Everyday is a challenge and an opportunity. Today I am thinking about this because tomorrow I will meet both challenge and opportunity. I am eager and nervous at the same time. Stay tuned and I...

When I first moved to Massachusetts some almost nine years ago now I had an accident. On my first night in my new old home I fell. That fall resulted in major beaks on both sides of my left ankle and two surgeries over the next year. I had metal rods inserted and then removed. Things were OK but ...
