Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

One of the transactions I most remember is a listing I secured after someone else blew it. It was a large home that had been on the market a very long time. The truth is, I don't recall how I came to meet the sellers. It may have been that I showed it while listed with someone else or that I soug...

I like my physician. When I moved from New Jersey to Massachusetts it took me months to find a primary. Once I found one it was almost a year before I got in for an appointment. Luckily my wait was worth it. My Dr. is smart, kind and responsive. I went earlier today for my annual and learned two ...

I was in the business about two weeks when someone I knew from another life inquired about a multi-family home. I was an investor myself and had two at the time but wasn't looking to sell. I had however approached a seller who owned a big one he was selling on his own the week before. So being in...

This is one of those weeks. I have appointments for stuff each and every day and some days I have multiple tasks to get done. Some things happen monthly or weekly, but in February I start with the annuals as well. The doctor leads to the blood work and blood work leads to more tests and so on. In...

Sally and David Hanson have challenged us to do something good and keep doing it throughout the year. The good they are looking to have us do is something we don't regularly do and is a stretch and meaningful to others and to ourselves in some way. So here we go. I have long been an animal advoca...

I really enjoy people and engaging with them. Yesterday I worked at the Antique Gallery where I have a booth. It was deadly slow. It felt like two full days for the seven hours I was open. I have stopped trying to figure out when there will be traffic and when it will be deadly. We had a frigid w...

I actively listed and sold real estate for some thirty five years. In that time I was also a landlord and it was mostly terrific. That said, I really did not do many rentals professionally because it really did not make any sense in terms of time to task and the little money it paid. I generally ...

i have a small space in an Antique Gallery in the Berkshires, in western Massachusetts. I work there on Sundays. It has been bitterly cold all week and so I am hoping that people will be eager to get out of their homes and come and look today. I really enjoy busy days, the time goes much quicker.

What a long and cold week. It is supposed to be 30 today but as I write this it is -4 base temperature. I am so done with the frigid temperatures. My pups are getting lethargic and I see they are done too. I am going to think positively and hope that the next week is better. Enjoy your day.

It has been a long and really cold week here in the Berkshires. I have largely been a shut in since Tuesday. My pups are upset with the cold and are having a hard time coping. They know they want out until they get out and then come right in and ten minutes later it is the same thing. It is anothe...
