Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

I hadn't really thought about this until a friend asked me if I had noticed any footsteps in the snow. And so I began to look and..... viola there were all sorts of steps I couldn't identify. There are all kinds of animals and birds here in the Berkshires. I have seen mice, fox, opossum, wolves, ...
When I was a kid I couldn't wait to grow up and do grown up things. Now I am a grown up and I wonder why I was in such a hurry. Children are mostly carefree unless they aren't and then it is up to all grown ups, related or not, to do any and everything we can to to make childhood a carefree time ...
Red is one of my favorite colors. My first new car was red, my bedroom and bath are both red, and so many of my yard companions are red too. Today amidst the gently falling snow and beautiful landscape that ensconces my home I have a good deal of red and white.
Brrrrrr, it is really cold outside but oh my, it is really beautiful too. This is the kind of snow that is magical and seductive to watch. I have also found that assuming is stupid and most assumptions are wrong an...
I have followed Mike for as long as I have been on Active Rain. I admire Mike for so many reasons: he is kind, he is smart, he is absolutely real. Many years ago he wrote a post about a funeral and a eulogy someone gave that was not specific and was less than personal. It was at that point that I...
I have worked in the real estate business for a very very long time. In that time I have learned what I can control and more importantly what I can't. With that in mind, now being in a new area and needing to find referral agents for my former clients and for those who I know moving to areas arou...
It wasn't the worst thing in the world but it felt like it at the time. I wanted a scooter and wasn't getting one, so with a couple of friends and some scrap crates I made one. It was junk but it was my junk. I was on an adjacent street when my parents came by in the family car and told me to lea...
It is an old story but also an accurate one. Sometimes the best way to proceed is simply to get on with it. In my little corner of the world I see this daily. The animals teach us lessons always. They seem to understand better than we humans, that there is magic all around us and if we adapt to o...
