Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

Years ago in New Jersey I bought a bike. It had no shifts or special features but it was pretty and I rode it. When I moved to Massachusetts I brought it with me but as I live on a hill I didn't ride it. When I took a space at a local antique gallery I got it there in the hopes that someone would...

I now live in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. I get to enjoy the activities of a vibrant and growing community as well as the stability and constancy of a small town home. In the summer there is nothing like Tanglewood (the summer home of the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops and numerous fam...

Every summer I work at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony. In addition to the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops and many wonderful popular artists appear. This season celebrates the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein. I was at the last concert Berstein ever conducted which was at ...

Today is one of those uncomfortable and costly days. My high end Big Chill stove made by Blue Star to look like an old one, needs an ignitor or maybe more. This is the fifth time it has been serviced in five years. When I had normal stoves I never had a problem and they were self cleaning and thi...

It is hard to explain but seeing animals in their natural environment is something that takes my breath away and of...

So I have been back from Uganda for almost two weeks now and I have been busy planting in my yard, weeding and placing new things I have acquired out and about. It has been really hot and humid, but I have been working it. Here are some pictures I took yesterday.

I love giraffes. In Africa there are many types but in Uganda they are not so plentiful. Nonetheless whenever I saw one or more it was thrilling. It is hard to describe just how special it is see an animal in its natural surrounding. Sometimes I think they wonder what we are doing there. Anyway, ...

I love safaris. I have enjoyed them in four countries in Africa. In Uganda where I was recently it was different. All animals are not in their natural habitats. Perhaps because of the extreme poverty they have moved the zebras to a park I didn't visit. The rhinos, almost extinct, are in places th...
