Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

I have had an American Express card for 45 years. That is a really long time. I am starting to think it is too long. No more are these folks responsive and caring. Policies change, people have retired and the new folks no longer regard loyalty. I think I will use my mileage and move elsewhere. Sa...

Tanglewood is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I am lucky enough to work there scanning tickets, greeting people and hearing amazing music of every sort. These are shots I took at Ozawa Hall the smaller venue there last week. While the artists rehearse they keep the building clos...

This week is crammed full of activities for me. I have more shifts at Tanglewood this coming week than I had in all of last year. My new car is in for service, I need to meet my tree guy and develop a plan, and with luck my main contractor will be here to fix my doors and adjust the door on my ne...

Yesterday I hit some small sales and scored a few things for almost nothing. Today however there is a real flea market at a historical site in the next town from mine that both benefits the historical society and offers numerous vendors a chance to rent a space and sell there too. Then there is a...

In the Berkshires there are yard sales and flea markets every weekend. In season, which is now, they happen on Fridays too. I love these chances to find a perfect treasure, yard ornament or surprise what is it. Friday is generally the best day because there are less people available to shop so I'...

Happily yesterday was a good and productive day. I got so much done that today I can relax and stay out of the rain. As I sip coffee, write this post and listen to the fence guys doing an installation next door I am grateful I'm not working in the rain. Everyone has something but today my somethi...

It has been a busy day. Now after a good sunny day the clouds are threatening and I'm off to Tanglewood for a string quartet and then a quintet with piano. This performance is in the smaller venue and this place has terrific acoustics. As evenings go this should be a shorter one because not as ma...

It may be sunny and nice but this bird is busy at work. He (I'm not sure it's a he really) is pecking the tree closest to my home with a serious attitude. It took me a while to actually see him but once I did, it was like he knew I was watching and hit that tree in earnest.

I had a long and busy morning. After an early afternoon haircut I had lunch at my favorite restaurant. It was packed and I got the last seat at the bar. What a difference the season makes. The Berkshires are really hopping now. With Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, the numerous theatrical venues, and ...

It has been a tough morning for me. I am up and well and grateful but it is difficult not to speak about politics and I am spent just listening. The story of the Emperor's New Clothes is always present. And so it was a wonderful diversion to see a bird on the roof of my new old shed. I went to ge...
