Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

It is just after 8 AM in Lima Peru and I am waiting for my 10:30 flight. I am tired and sick and ready to be home today. I am flying to San Salvador on route to New York. The worse thing about travel in the transportation. As the world has gotten more perilous, it has gotten even more complex. On...

I am back in Cusco after two days in a magical area. I wasn't able to post many pictures because the signal was weak. Now that I am here again, I will try a few more, so you can get a better idea. So varied, so overwhelming and so other wordly.

Children are the same all the world over but these kids are doing their best in difficult circumstances. When there is little, there is generally a desperation felt but those who are hungry for better. These children are happy though because they are encouraged and nutured by their teachers and t...

There are no words or pictures that can truly convey the experience that is Machu Picchu. Some places are just magical and this is certainly one. I have never been anywhere, save Meteora in Greece, that is so soulful and so overwhelmingly incredible. From the breath and depth of this arena you kn...

Today was another long day and started with a flight from Lima to Cusco. While I saw little to nothing of Lima it is a big city like many I have benn in before: a lot of congestion, too much traffic and everything you would expect with 10,000,000 people. In constrast, Cusco is an old world place ...

I loved Ecuador and so far Lima is just a big city: the capital and a big and bussling one with 10,000,000 plus people. Tomorrow off to Cuzco with a blended large group and I have decided to call it a night...

The drive to the Amazon from Quito was long and hard, principally because of the altitude and the hair pin turns. It was the same this morning going to the thermal spas, but the end was terrific. It is cold and raining, but once in the water: magic. Some shots from along the way. Later onto Peru.

So many of my perennials were close to blooming before I left, but not yet there. Now that I am away, and I am afraid I may have missed the flourish and the flowers for this year. Timing is everything and I guess and this year my neighbors will have to enjoy my flowers for me.

I like a beautiful and scenic ride as much as anyone. This trip however was difficult in altitude and the the constant turns and temperature changes made it more than an ordeal. That said, we did stop at a sanctuary with humming birds. Some incredible species here. Enjoy these pictures of the one...

Suffice to say that hating the heat and humidity as I do, I might have thought twice about going to the Amazon. Needless to say I did not. So here I am. This morning we had a jungle excursion. You first get rubber hip boots, take a boat, and trek through heavy mud in the rain. So, why would anyon...
